Gaia died just when i got my avatar looking how i liked . Luckily neopets is “coming back” so i can forget my troubles and continue to live in nostalgia.
I had a friend in high school who was really into Neopets. I wish I had participated in it earlier. I never got into the cards, just a little into the website but I was too into other things already. (Probably WoW) I do have a plush purple Shoyru that I’ll never get rid of though. I didn’t know Neopets was making a comeback though. I’d be willing to hop on that train for a minute!
This one is it for me! Gotta be loyal to the Cabal!
Thats like saying i dont use imessages cause i need to stay loyal to discord. Its not a Country, its a website.
Clearly not a cabal member
This was entirely sarcasm, haha. Really I just struggle at not being a lurker here, so I haven’t looked for anything else. Would rather put my focus into one thing I can enjoy fully.
What even is cabal. If E4 is a country is smpratte the evil dictator?
Ignore my follow up comment - whispers: that was to throw them off the trail.
Lmao that’s hilarious
i just brought over all my WC books from my mom’s and stepdad’s back to my place across the country, so I can finally put my whole collection together!
Speaking of Neopets, I also found my Yellow Ixi figurine at my parents, I decided to keep it too! I forgot I had it. Sometimes I really miss being on NP but I don’t have time to spend there anymore, and I also don’t remember my account login info lol.
I’ve been a long time lurker on many forums in the past but sadly E4 is the only one I keep up with these days due to most others either having shut down or sometimes simply losing interest/growing up past my teen years. Even though I have multiple interests, subreddits tend to be the most active with those these days.
If I had to think back, I’ve been on:
Gendou (which is still kicking!)
Shiver7 (a small graphic design forum)
Gamefaqs (Man, thinking back to the early 2000’s when I needed help getting past a point in a game so I’d find a 30 page handwritten guide by a random user and I’d print out the whole thing at our home printer)
Elfwood (which was a fantasy competitor to deviantart back in the day, more so a gallery than a forum)
Some random tech sites that helped with all my tech inquiries over the years (techsupportguy, neowin)
conceptart.org
(incredible forum for illustrators and concept artists that I’d say was sort of the art equivalent to E4. Mainly because many amazing professionals were on there hanging out and willing to help new artists out and give great critiques or sharing their knowledge in their professional careers. Unfortunately shut down due to a lot of drama behind the scenes and around that time social media was really starting to pick up steam so naturally most artists started posting their art on Facebook, Instagram and tumblr)
I’m omnipresent everywhere, on the Internet.
I was so excited reading your last paragraph, but sad to see it get shut down.
I guess Dribble Behance and Instagram are the main ones for inspiration
Probably in the mid 2000’s was my height on forums…but I frequented
Bungie
MLG pro | Gamebattles
Only other forum I participate in is the 2nd gen GR86/BRZ FORUM
X360a was my second home back in my achievement hunting days.
I’ve been in a few between 2009-2011, even made one myself with a friend.
Everything died and people split up. If I happen to think about the community back then I miss it, but life has gone on for everyone.
I have difficoulties being active on e4 only by now
Ayyy, same here! I’ll have a browse of other parts, but Beast Wars is where it’s at!
Wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few other BW fans on E4, since it was still going during the same window of time as Pokémania.
Yes, but I’m not active on them anymore. I used to be active on the twistypuzzles forum when I was still collecting twisty puzzles (2012-2019). I also have made an account on PokéBeach and PokéGym, but for both I’ve only made one or two posts. For PokéBeach I primarily watch their news section, and comment every once in a blue moon.
If reddit counts as a ‘forum’, I guess I’m still active on /r/pkmntcgcollections and semi-active on /r/PokemonMisprints and the recently created /r/PokemonTCGSpecies (I couldn’t care less about /r/PokemonTCG nor /r/pokemoncardcollectors anymore…)
Greetz,
Quuador
Back in the day IMDB had a kind of forum but was unceremoniously deleted during a takeover.
I was also in numerous other movie/box office/home video forums, not sure how many are still alive now. Box Office Mojo used to have a forum as well and then got taken over by IMDB and it got deleted.
In fact, for all the talk of data forever being on the Internet, all these dead forums’ historical posts and information were just wiped out.
I used gamefaqs for the guides and also printed a few out at one point!
The forums, only occasionally. I found that if you were asking a question deemed to be obvious, you’d get hit with a barrage of patronising comments. Also, there was identity to any of the users without avatars or any sort of community feel so I didn’t post there for long.
