Title says it all. I’m wondering if anyone knows the print runs/rarity of E-Series cards compared to the other WOTC sets? I dont see a lot on the pop reports or on ebay. Thoughts? Also the demand/value of them. Thanks!
From my experience, just based on what I have organically come across in looking at/buying collections around my area, 1st edition base set, Australian fossil, and base set UK are rarer than eReader. Ereader pops up frequently, where as those three do not. Australian fossil has popped up the least of the three.
Of all WotC sets, yes. But absolutely not of all sets. There are quite a few EX Series sets that had significantly lower print runs than, for instance, Expedition. I’d be astonished if TMTA, Deoxys, and Dragon didn’t have lower print runs than both Expedition and Aquapolis. Skyridge is a bit tougher to evaluate.
@mikejofthecoast, you mentioned “Australian Fossil” and “Base UK”. I have never heard of there being card differences between regional English print runs/releases, could you elaborate a little more on what an Australian Fossil card looks like? Very excited at the prospect!
did neo sets taper off in print run size similar to how wotc eseries did? I wasn’t aware that this data existed, although based on the 6 or so genesis boxes at auction I guess it makes sense
No one knows for sure, but it seems pretty clear (to me, at least) that Neo Genesis had the largest print run and that Neo Destiny probably had the smallest. Not sure where Discovery and Revelation fit into that, though.
You’ll have to do some reading and link clicking on the fossil thread link, im not sure if there is a guide on the Australian Fossil or not on here. Enjoy the learning dude!
Also if you think about it Pokémon was on a down tee and during this time. Product is printed to demand and the demand was slowly dying out during this time.
i strongly believe e series will have it’s time. They haven’t peaked yet and they are all very low pop and beautiful cards. Their low pop will be a big pro in a few years
