Anyone collect Legos?

This strikes me as a millennial minimalist set piece rather than an actually interesting LEGO set. It’s so…flat?

I agree with @VinnieCannoli it looks like it’s still trying to decide whether it’s a toy or art

Here’s a bad photo of the one I was talking about. Its unapologetically a toy - bulky, round, quintessentially NOT modern

…We all created scenarios destroying our toys as kids (Lego actually let us do it), but the juxtaposition of the joy this father and son are having while destroying the titanic is… morbidly Hilarious.

Chinese lego copy product with a unique set.

These are in a thrift store in my city!
Pretty neat to see. Who knows if they are complete inside those boxes.
Any idea what they could be worth? They are on auction currently at 100 CAD
(I guess i could go on ebay lol)

I wouldn’t collect for investment. I do collect Brickheadz but prefer to design my own ones

This is a major reason I’ve been back dabbling in Lego. I can only handle so many market posts/videos/threads a day. Nobody’s pushing Lego as an investment thankfully

Which is funny because there were/are people “investing” in Lego boxes. It was one of the first alternative investments on nerdy stuff to break into mainstream media here, and I even remember a newspaper article titled “Lego sets perform better than treasury bonds - expert says” lol

But it just pales when compared to Pokemon stonks, cringe and nonsense: so I can totally imagine it’s a breath of fresh air, especially right now.
2025 truly made me realize that I need a hobby to be just a hobby.

I really don’t want to spoil the party but there are plenty of people using Lego as an investment. Maybe not as many as in Pokémon but there are even websites like brickeconomy or YouTube channels where it’s solely about the market value and potential future value of the sets.

Edit: @decoypalmette was faster than me

There’s lego investing facebook groups with 40,000 members. Activity in those groups have fallen off a cliff now that the returns have diminished.

Well its night and day compared to pokemon.

A top tier sealed Lego set is like 10k absolutely max?
A top tier Pokemon box is 100k min

Yeah totally. Honestly it’s hard to imagine a mainstream hobby to be totally pristine and free from these phenomena right now. However below a certain threshold you can at least avoid the noise, enjoy 95% of the things, and mind your own business.
Unless you get caught in weird YouTube/tiktok algorithm rabbit holes of course.

Just got this one in.

No time to build it, like many other boxes I bought this year.

But someday I will.

No thoughts just that they should’ve kept making this line
