He’s saying that PSA is harsh on them, which they very much are. You could have the tiniest indent, super hard to see and it’s an auto 6 or lower.
I’m not sure we have the data from CGC to conclude how harsh they are there, and they don’t have a grading scale published last time I checked to compare it to PSA etc.
Oh I see, so too harsh on indents on PSAs part. Do you know the severity of grade drops for creases? Do they really differ on grade from 1 superficial crease versus 1 similar size nonsuperficial crease, and how do those compare to an indent?
I have some Masaki marks and other cards with issues at CGC to see how they handle them. I’m also cracking a bunch of PSA to send to CGC and vice versa to just generate some data. Once I have enough to share I will.
False. It’s more than likely about staying consistent with the CGC Comics label. I assure you more people than just their advisor pushed for a different label. Their team consists of individuals heavily involved in MTG card communities. These decisions are typically made higher up.
Yea. Personally I find the smug “we dont care, we can do what we want” response the cgc apparently gave to be out of context or disingenuous. It matches their already established label design for their comic books so dont know why they’d change it for cards. I asked if this suggestion was made specifically for the new card labels or for their entire labels including comic books and didn’t get an answer so…
Also “their advisor” was the one that advised it? Do they only have 1 advisor, or was this just 1 person on a team of many?
As long as Cgc isn’t going to give me a month and a half long run around to have cases with switched labels that somehow made it past 2 QA checks fixed like PSA did, I’m more than happy to give Cgc a chance to provide a better experience.
