Any way to combat CT scanning Double Crisis packs?

Trying to open some double crisis packs and i’m not sure if the packs have been ct scanned.
Is there any way to detect this such as a geiger counter?

I don’t think it’s cost effective to CT scan packs, not a huge concern

Nobody is CT scanning double crisis packs. It wouldn’t be worth it. Packs do not become radioactive when they are scanned, which would be necessary to be picked up on a geiger counter.

Determine if the opportunity cost, pack + CT, is less than the best pull an average pack will yield. I don’t think so. No concern here.

Those packs CAN be weighed, however.

Are you sure the packs can be weighed? There is always a holo or ultra rare and a reverse

Ct wcanning would cost 75 for base ct cost plus per pack scanned is 25
So if you have multiple packs it could even be less tham 30 dollars a pack to scan. The more packs the closer to 25 a pack
1/6 chance of hitting ex so expected value is like 25 dollars raw not including the grading potential value.

Oh! Is there always a holo? I thought there was just a reverse… Ooops. Haven’t opened those in a LONG time, but did open several and have many more.
I may very well be mistaken.

Do you have any more left? Looking to buy some

I wasn’t planning to sell any sealed at this time, but I’ll consider it.

Nobody is wasting hundreds or thousands of dollars scanning Double Crisis packs to pull a PSA 6-9 EX. It’s just not financially feasible given the abysmal PSA 10 rates.

Could someone do it? Sure. Would someone do it? Probably not. There are much more exciting packs to CT gamble on.

Yeah, no one is going to spend an extra 38% of the pack price to search for a card that is in 1/6 packs.

I’ve done the quick math now. If you bought ~100 packs @ $80 each and scanned them all, it would cost $11k. If you resold the ones that didn’t have the Kyogre, you’d save about $2.5k over just opening them all. But that involves moving ~85 packs without affecting the price. It would probably take years.

Also, you’d have ~17 Kyogre. So there’s something like a 75% estimated chance that you don’t end up with a psa 10. If we are generous and say you get all 17 as PSA 9 and sell them each for $300 then you are left with a profit of $340. To be clear, that’s sourcing 102 packs @ $80, paying for scanning, selling the 85 duds @ $80 minus fees, getting very generous grades, selling for $300 each after fees. This does not include grading fees, taxes, shipping.

It just makes zero sense.

If you’re really dead-set on getting this card in PSA 10, may I recommend the superior Japanese copy that will actually be in 10 condition and has the cracked ice holo instead?

You’ll probably save yourself a ton of time and money instead of trying to produce a miracle.

Bought one blister and tried to weigh it for science.
Opened the heaviest ones and pulled a holo and Groupon fa, afterwards I opened the lighter ones and pulled a holo and Kyogre Full Art.
Wouldn’t recommend to weigh them.

Also the cards have a terrible quality even though the Blister was in a perfect condition, If I get a PSA 8 on both I‘d be more than happy

Ill just take yalls word for it and hope its safe to crack.

I gotta get the english in a 10 to complete the set.

Yeah, I bought about a dozen blisters and opened about half. I remember the quality being hit and miss…

@Beongeist I would recommend,
If you need the 10, go pre-slabbed, then.
