I don’t expect it is particularly rare of particularly valuable, however I’d just like to know if anyone has any more info on this card at all. It was probably given out for free when making a purchase at the Pokemon Center but I’d like to know what year/month it was distributed, during which campaign, if it was specific to certain Pokemon Centers or online, if there was a larger set of these etc (and if so so I can look at purchasing more).
It is the same height as a regular TCG card but it is a bit narrower. The reverse is matte and the front is glossy (almost like the surface of the CoroCoro Shining Mew). Thanks in advance!
Maybe related to these stickers i found since its the exact same art (here)
It states
“Pokemon Center 2009 Salamence, Milotic & Dragonite set of 3 stickers. They were given out as a prize in a lottery drawing at the Japan Pokemon Centers. If you purchased 3000 yen (about $35) worth of items during a special limited time campaign in October, 2009, you got one chance in the lottery. This was one of the prizes. Not for sale at the Pokemon Centers, toy stores or any other place. Only given out as a lottery prize. The back peels off and you can stick it on any surface. Out of production.”
Maybe this card was apart of that promotion too?
However i also found this which may be related
In 2007-2008 there were local Japanese event Pokémon distributions that were given away locally to Japanese language Pokémon games in Generation IV.
It states
"Strongest Pokémon
These Pokémon were distributed at Pokémon Center stores in Japan over a four month timeframe in five separate distribution periods. Three of the Pokémon distributed were selected via a poll, with Electivire and Magmortar automatically being part of the distribution.
The first Pokémon that was distributed was Electivire from November 15 to 30, 2007. This was followed by the distribution of Magmortar from December 1 to 14, 2007. The first Pokémon selected via the poll was Milotic, and was distributed from December 15, 2007 to January 14, 2008. After Milotic, Dragonite was distributed from January 15 to February 14, 2008. The final Pokémon distributed was Salamence, from February 15 to March 14, 2008."
Which matches the 1999-2008 date on the back of the card
Can’t find anything else at the moment about it but i will let you know if i find out more.
@pikachutcg , wow, that was quick and quote thorough. I think you’re probably right - given how identical the drawings of these three are it’s almost certainly something to do with these stickers, and gives me something to go off as well, many thanks!
