Everyone has a favourite card and as you can tell from the title mine is magmar, im looking to collect every version of him and the photos below(hopefully if i know how to add them) are what i allready have. if anyone wants to jump in and help with any i should add to my collection i would love the help to catch them all.
ill add new cards as they get added to my collection.

im now at the point of looking at cards that feature magmar, ive just bought this charizard in english and am currently looking for it in japanese at a reasonable price lol any ideas on other cards that feature magmar? i was slightly dissapointed that magmar hasn’t got a tagteam card

I think the only other one I can think of is a partial cameo. Blaine’s Quiz Show from Unified Minds has a Magmar curtain I guess. Love the collection. Really cool.

The cameo thread made by joshspkmncollection here on E4 doesn’t mention any other cameos besides those two cards so looks like in english cards that’s it, japanese cards however aren’t listed there so it’s possible one exists there

Hey all, ordered 3 cards i needed from yahoo auctions through remambo and they sent me loads of free magmars which was mint apart from the fact i allready have them lol, any magmar collectors in need of the extras i have give me a shout

Clash at the summit reverse holo unlimited 13/80 - cant find it anywhere and im questioning its existence lol
Expedition base set magmar matchprint - i know this will by all means be the hardest to find but do you have any idea where i could atleast see pics of it for my own curiosity

@scorrer11 As requested, I went through all English and Japanese Magmar and compared it to the list in your first post, and these are the ones missing:

English:

• Base Set ©1999-2000: the unlimited edition Base Set has both a version with ©1999 and ©1999-2000. The second was released in the UK.
• Fossil ©1999-2000: the unlimited edition Fossil set non-Holos also had a ©1999-2000 version, which are a lot lesser known than the Base Set. These came from Australian red logo packs. Some more info in this Efour article.
• EX Team Rocket Returns non-Holo Uncommons have two different codes at the bottom-left. For the Magmar the codes are FQ2-T6E-65C and FQ2-T6E-6GB. All English codes for the ex era sets can be found in this Excel that was once compiled by @tonysandlin .
• Unleashed Reverse Holo simply seems to be missing in your list
• Expedition Base Set had leaked Test Color MATCHPRINT cards. For the Magmar (and all available Pokémon) only two copies exist. Some more info can be found in this video of TCA Gaming (I’ve timestamped it at the Magmar).

You also seems to have the Base Set grey 1st edition stamp version twice in the list at numbers #40 and #50. Here an article with all 1st edition stamp variations, although just the regular thick stamp and misprinted grey stamp may be the only ones available for Magmar. It’s plausible a thin or back stamped version might exist as well for Magmar, although I’ve never seen it yet.

Japanese:

• Quick Starter Gift Set - Green Deck no rarity. This is the same artwork as #5 Vending Machine Extended Sheet 3 (Green). The one from the Vending Machine is glossy with rarity symbol, and the one from the Quick Starter Gift Set is without rarity symbol and regular non-glossy.
• Guren Town Gym no rarity. This is the same artwork as #25 Challenge from the Darkness. The one from the Challenge from the Darkness set has a rarity symbol, and the one from the Guren Town Gym theme deck is without rarity symbol.

Apart from that you’ve only listed one of a lot of cards, even though they have both a 1st edition and unlimited edition print run in Japanese:

• Rocket Gang Strikes Back 1st & unlimited editions
• Mirage Forest 1st & unlimited editions
• Secret of the Lakes 1st & unlimited editions
• Bastiodon the Defender deck 1st & unlimited editions
• Magmortar vs Electivire Deck Kit - Magmortar Half Deck 1st & unlimited editions
• Beat of the Frontier 1st & unlimited editions
• Clash at the Summit 1st & unlimited editions
• Dragon Blade 1st & unlimited editions
• Rising First 1st & unlimited editions

All the other Japanese sets only have a single edition available, in most cases just unlimited (but for the CP6 and Pokémon VS Karen’s Magmar only 1st edition).

This one does exist, but unlimited edition Reverse Holos from both the Japanese Reviving Legends (L2) and Clash at the Summit (L3) sets are stupidly hard to find unfortunately. A lot of single Pokémon collectors usually have to acquire this variation as one of the last cards for their collections. Luckily Magmar/Magmortar aren’t Primes in that set, since the unlimited edition Reverse Holo Prime cards are even harder to find. I know it took @tonysandlin 11 years before he was able to find his Electrode Prime in RH unlimited edition for example…

Expedition base set magmar matchprint - i know this will by all means be the hardest to find but do you have any idea where i could atleast see pics of it for my own curiosity

Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the Matchprint Magmar I’m afraid. The one in the earlier linked video of TCA Gaming is the only one I’ve personally seen. Here is a picture of my Pikachu in case you’re curious what a close-up of the back looks like. Although the text itself and its diagonal position could vary, since the full text would read DIGITAL HALFTONE - IMATION MATCHPRINT - COMMERCIAL BASE.

Started collecting some parody magmar cards to till out a binder page in my magmar master set I’m doing.

As of today (3/10/2026) there is a base set 2 blue flame error on eBay listed for $2,500. I tried having a conversation with the guy an offered $1,000 but was left with lackluster response. If anyone is willing to pay that it’s out there now!
