1st Edition Base Set Booster Box on Auction

My guess is over 100k AUD

Don’t you reckon a item like this needs a time stamp so people no its legit and not old pictures. Im sure it is legit but always a doubt when dropping multiple figures :grin:

You probably won’t have much of a body left after selling enough organs to get this box :sob:

But your organs would be useful for the first time in your life. I’ll just sell my heart and get it replaced with one of those new fancy ones that are being developed.

A lot of people didn’t think there would be very many/if any bidders over $50k for the BGS 1st ed. zard but there were more than expected. Obviously this is going to be a bit more expensive but I think we’re all going to be surprised how many people are actually going to bid $80k+ maybe. This is the moment all the big boys have been waiting for :sunglasses:

I’m gonna go with $100,000+…

Someone out there has the ‘eff you’ money to legitimately drop on this and a 1st Edition Base Set Booster box selling for six-figures is going to be a headline-maker…

The hype is real and I hope the price of this bad boy goes to the friggin’ moon! :stuck_out_tongue:

The effect this is going to have on No rarity, shadowless, 1st ed shadowless of course lol, and Unlimited base is going to be insane… Even korean, chinese ect. IT will boost everything out of this world.

Japanese unlimited base set boxes are already going up, but they will go up even more.

But the effect this is going to have ON WOTC boxes in english is going to be crazeballs, there is going to be so much anger around.

You just wait and see.

To bad the numbers of unlimited base psa 10 arnt like the numbers of unlimited MTG 1993. I dont think were going to see prices hit that range for a while for unlimited… could take 5 - 10 years. But it seems my syndi senses cant look that far into the future.

IM sure alot of people were dredding this day of a 1st ed box showing up on open bayston market during the pwcc era… Well its here, and alot of people aint gonna be happy. Any hopes and dreams of opening one of these boxes for probably 99% of collectors out there, perhaps 100% just got crushed.

I HAVE BEEN RECOUPING MY ORGRANZ FOR HARVESTING FOR SUCH A DAY AS THIS… IT IS TIME. The box will be mine.

I applied what I said to this box as it’s a booster box, not a card. Don’t get me wrong, I completely agree with every other person who has said this box is a collectable in its own right however some of the market for those high end cards like the BGS 1st ed. Zard would have come from sports collectors, surely. I can still see them delving into this of course but I feel the box may change the demographic. This is just speculation, I could be entirely wrong, that was just my thought process when making my previous comment. If we were assuming that the numbers and market for both were exactly the same then I would say 100k+ too.

Need to pick up my wotc 1st ed boxes sooner than I thought lol

Damn I really wish I pulled the trigger on that box @thecharizardauthorty bought last year from collectors cache for ~10 or 12k whatever it was. @garyis2000 time to crack that case and sell a couple more maybe?

$100,000 is my bet after seeing this insane early action, but I am still offering 15k++ for one in my buy thread… :sob: :sob:

At this point I really hope nobody is going to open it, but then again I have no idea how anyone could put up that kind of money and not open it. I can’t even do that on $1k-5k boxes as I am always paranoid. The days of fossil and jungle 1st boxes being cheap to open are coming to an end. I think that is going to have a huge effect on all WOTC PSA 10’s as the boxes stop being profitable to open (which they probably shouldn’t have been all along).

Thats for sure… The jungle and fossil box i was watching price wise recently:

I wanted like 5-10 of each to open the absolute shite out of, but at this rate ill barely get 1 of each

I see you were eyeing those also :')

They went for more than half of the boxes sold in America lol, just cheaper to buy international at this point (I was expecting lower for these auctions honestly)

I was watching those two auctions as well, once the fossil one hit 1300 I used the eBay 18% off on the 1700 BIN one

Well I hate you because im broke nirly homeless. and was unaware of 18% off on ebay.

Always looking to errrrrrrr… savings.

I’m not ready for this brave new world

I was expecting lower as well, the prices surprised me but I assume they were higher because the bidders were taking into account import fees that they’d need to pay if they sourced internationally.

The thing is most stores will put whatever you want on the customs declaration, just don’t email them asking because they’ll say no, call them, as they don’t like to put that kind of stuff in writing. They make you say something on the order like ‘I understand that if you were to put $700 on the customs declared value form then I would only be able to claim $700 on insurance’.

What’s the over/under on how many days it’ll be before another one hits eBay?

I expect another one on eBay before Friday. Alternatively, if whoever is waiting to put one up is waiting… the moment this auction ends, the next one will be up, buy it now, at a 25-50% markup over the final close of the other box, less than a day after the auction ends.

Who knows, this auction might tempt a few people into cashing out though

This is what we need… we needs people to cash in so then we can all hock our collections and go after a visible box. BEcause they havent been visible for a long time.

A great man once said
