Working on a Dragalge checklist and there is a card from the XY Black Star Promo set. Looking at the Limitless TCG site ( Dragalge - XY Promos (XYP) #10 – Limitless ), it says the card was issued six (6) different languages. Looking on web sites that sell cards, I can’t find any XY Black Star Promo Cards from any language except for English.
Is this the only language these cards were printed in?
If they exist in other languages, then does the Dragalge exist in the other languages with the STAFF stamp?
Limitless does not document what languages cards actually release in, it only allows you to show the assets from the TCG Online in different languages. Having had a look around Cardmarket and Vinted, I’d probably agree that this was an English only release.
Looking at a couple databases I found these, I’m not sure if the prerelease promos from that era were printed in every language since sometimes they have images of unreleased cards. I saw listings for the Japanese gym one, but none for French/Italian with a quick search
There’s other XY prerelease promos listed for sale so it’s possible it was printed in other languages and has a staff stamp, but really all I could find is German listings. Maybe someone who collects prerelease promos will know more!
Except for some stock images (e.g. German, French, Italian) that were copied from the online database, I couldn’t find any proof of a release outside of the Japanese 288/XY-P and English XY10 Prerelease & XY10 Prerelease STAFF versions.
Since CardMarket and Vinted were already checked by other above, I’ve just checked google images and eBay .de/.fr/.it, both without any results.
I also double-checked Russian, but if it isn’t included in the promos in this video, I seriously doubt it exists.
And MercadoLivre Brazil also didn’t hold any results for a potential Portuguese release.
Thanks for checking. Think I have it done for now. Finding all the foreign language “catch up sets” cards can be hard to do. Those are the ones I usually miss. Also recently found out that not all the Japanese sets have an Unlimited version. Working on getting all that information together so I can remove them for my checklist.
This thread might help with that: Sets and Languages: Compilation overview list. (It’s up-to-date to roughly the end of the SM era, but since the SM/SwSh/SV eras don’t have 1st edition Japanese sets anyway, that’s fine for getting all the info about the Japanese 1st/unlimited edition sets. )
