Has anyone seen this before in psa slabs ? Is the plastic case , the card ? Would PSA take this and clean it or give me another case if it is the case ?
Am I just worrying for nothing ? lol

Hit it with some PlastX. Every card I get gets a PlastX wipe-down.
It looks like it’s inside though , I doesn’t feel like it’s on the exterior
I would follow @codytcas’ suggestion. If it’s not on the outside of the case, then it’s either on the inside of the case or on the card itself. Nobody will know what that is with certainty. I think you’re being overly paranoid and perfectionistic. Try enjoying the card rather than searching for imperfections.
If it’s killing you after a week, send it to PSA for a reholder. But if it’s on the card, they will not remove it for you.
Yeah I think I am being paranoid lol
Nothing to worry about if it’s just the plastic itself in my experience. You can fix it usually on the outside, but if it’s the inside there’s not much you can do really. Only option would be to re-holder it through PSA.. but probably not worth it if it’s not broken or cracked.
I did some more research and I was worried this was mold but not the case from what I have found. I was more so worried this would create more of an issue as time goes by.
If it doesn’t show on the psa scan I read that it’s more likely to be on the case either outside or in.
When I can I will buy plastix and try it out but I can’t feel it on the case so that makes me wonder it’s most likely inside
I don’t think this card would have got the grade of 9 if it had this on the card so hopeful it’s just the case
Hmm, that’s a tougher one then. I don’t think I’ve had that issue, but I haven’t closely looked at each and every slap. What I do personally is store my slabs in a fairly dry/tight enclosure, and so I don’t think or feel I should have many issues with mold or bacterias in the case.
I guess for now just keep an eye on it. If it got worse for some reason, your best bet would be to consider a re-holder of the case. I’ve heard the newer PSA cases are even more clear & air tight than older ones, unless this one you have is the new one than maybe that isn’t necessarily true in all cases
It is a newer slab , will keep an eye on it hopeful it’s not a problem
The more I look at it this morning having had a nights rest , the more I realize I wish I hadn’t made this post lol it’s not a big deal Thanks to everyone though appreciate your help
Dyl already mentioned it, but if you are super paranoid about it then it send in for a reholder since it retains the cert and grade, but just gets a new slab.
Yeah I’m realizing it’s not a big deal , at least I can reholder it if it does bug me a lot but it’s not a big deal really , wish I could go back in time and not post this whole thing lol
I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it. We all get a little paranoid from time to time about the condition of our collectibles.
I just got a new slab and noticed something that doesn’t appear on the scan. Any suggestions what the marks are. The red on the bottom is on scan
Well looks like I’m not the only one
Seems like psa has an issue …
I wonder if the scans are of the card before they actually seal the slab together ?
I don’t know the technicalities of the slab process but this could be the result of those little squares in the slab getting brushed against the card when getting sealed but I can’t think of what this could be other than that
At least I don’t have to worry it’s mold since it’s a possible thing for other slabs as I have seen on Reddit as well where scans do not reflect the final product
I haven’t seen any scans of psa slabs where you actually see those squares and that’s why I think these smudges are those squares rubbing against the card after getting sealed
Are you talking about them? I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with them.
It’s on the inside of the case and not on the card I’m sure as there’s a bit of wiggle room in the case and if you give it a jiggle the marks will stay and the card will move. Well for me anyway.
Id sway towards the mold route as it’s a pre owned slab and don’t know how it was stored.
Give your slab a shake and see if it dislodges the marks. That’s what I’m going to do for a bit and if I can’t live with it will sell on. The front in gorgeous though
I’m getting it reholdered to see if that helps as I thought it wouldn’t bug me but yeah it’s bugging me lol
Has anyone else experienced this ? If you have and still have the slabs could you possibly show some pics ? It’s weird, some of these marks look brighter then others , some look lighter and not as noticeable
I still don’t think it’s mold but can’t be 100% sure as mold looks different as from my research on slabs with confirmed mold inside them
But yes if anyone has these marks in the slab please let me know your thoughts
