Yes, this is likely a pinched layer error.
Most pinched layer errors that I’ve seen were vertical, so I think it is a bit unusual (but not impossible) to see a horizontal pinch.
Here are examples of the vertical pinch:
I suppose the other possibility is water damage, but if the rest of the card looks great then it is unlikely to be due to water.

Thanks for sharing this, @pokemonauburn! It was a really interesting read. CGC stands out so well on error and misprint grading. I don’t see PSA / BGS/ etc. catching up any time soon.

Yeah, it’s super interesting to read their articles. After reading it I took a closer look at the pictures and it definitely looks similar in some ways to the end of roll zard
