Luckily I’m comfortable enough with everything. Only way this card doesn’t get paid off is if I’m in a horrible accident and lose my memory, or if WWIII breaks out, I get called back into the military, and don’t survive.
@seeingdouble I’m about to blow your mind but have you ever heard of a home mortgage? Or a car monthly payment plan? Most real estate transactions are fake by your thinking.
It is crazy you guys are all acting like tomorrow is guaranteed and life doesn’t happen. Look at how different all of our lives were 6 months ago.
The bottomline is that the card is not sold, therefore this is not the new price point.
In 6 months when the money is exchanged and the deal is complete, it will be a new price point.
If I put a down payment on a car, and finance the rest, technically it’s ‘sold’ but if I don’t have possesion of the title and if I dont pay the remaining balance the car it will be repo’d. Chavy is not in possession of the card and enlightened isn’t in possession of the money, the deal is simply not done.
They have agreed on a price and set out payment terms with a 20% downpayment.
@chavycat just got a bit excited on his new ‘purchase’ and couldn’t wait to flex, his follow up post with his bank account is just further proof.
Oh well, I am not in the market for these cards and I wouldn’t put nearly all of my net worth into a single card, or hope to sell off cards to fund $50k, especially in these uncertain times.
Like I said, goodluck to everyone and I hope the deal works out.
It really is such a great card. Not the rarest card, but beautiful and iconic. It just so happened I was looking into acquiring one when I saw some of the cards from chavycat’s collection that he’s going to be selling off.
It is sold because even if the same condition card sells for more in a month from now, these two folks here have a deal. So in 7 months he’s going to pay what they agreed on today no matter what the card is worth then, Whether it’s more or less. Goofy
It’s more of a 34% down payment but that’s just numbers man.
Me and Hyrule both love data. My 1st business is based on risk and data analysis. This is a cool transaction. Everyone else seems to be pretty congratulatory about this. I hope everyone else’s attitudes make you a little bit more optimistic about the hobby
If you work in risk and data analysis I feel bad for your clients haha.
We are literally in the most uncertain times in modern history and you only have $75k in assets and you are spending the equivalent of $80k on a single card.
Also, you are betting that the value of your collection will stay the same and it will be easy for you to unload multiples of the same card.
Goodluck guys! I am not going to go in circles here, regret posting at all lol.
You seem to have had some negative things go on for you to have this perspective. I don’t wish you ill will. I just hope that if you have anyone in your life that looks up to you, you choose to inculcate them with hope instead of something less desirable
Your home is worth over $10 million dollars and you choose to spend your life arguing about cards that aren’t yours and a deal that has nothing to do with you on a pokemon forum?
Perhaps you are recently retired and have all the money and time in the world but surely there are better ways to spend the latter.
Yup, if @seeingdouble , 's goal was to make sure that information about future big deals is kept out of the public eye, he’s certainly doing a good job of that.
my initial post was mentioning the fact the deal could still fall through so its a bit early to announce a new price.
Then Chavy decided to post his bank account.
I was just talking about life in general, I had 2 close friends die in car accidents last year and also have lost a few friends to disease and drugs like I am sure we all have.
6 months ago, all of us were living a different life, who knows what the next 6 months will hold?
and my home is 7 figure, not 8 that was a typo. But If we are cool with chavy spending his money however he sees fit, why worry about me spending my time how I want. =)
