Hi, how are you? I’m Federico from Argentina. I’ve gathered information over the years and know quite a bit about this topic. I even have several sealed cards. The sealed Series 2 appeared as an advertising campaign by Topps in schools and newsstands, given away for free to encourage sales to children. However, finding a holographic card in Series 2 wasn’t guaranteed. It’s believed that the odds of finding a holographic card were similar to those of Sparkle or Tekno. Holographic cards could be obtained through promotions like those offered by Burger King, which advertised Series 2 on several occasions with posters. In Argentina, it’s very difficult to complete the entire Series 2 holographic set.
As my good friend @Pokemonrare said, we came to the conclusion that these sealed series 2 holos and non-holos were given out that way, but it’s only our guess, we don’t have definitive proof. What we are almost certain is that Series 2 booster packs in Argentina did not contain holographic cards, and that holos were given out as a promotion in Burger King, in theory unsealed. As he says, completing a Series 2 set is almost impossible even in the country of their release. Hope that helped!
If you aren’t planning to purchase this yourself, I’d be interested in contacting to seller to buy it!
Thank you for this guide @samsamsamsmsms , it was really informative.
I’ve started adding Topps cards to TCG Collector for people to track their Topps collections, and added Series 1 today. I didn’t add the unconfirmed variants as I see them as errors personally (I think).
So this serves as a public thank you from TCG Collector in general for all the previous work you did to maintain data on Topps card complete and up to date!
Hey guys my friend @Pokemonrare just released an informative video talking about the elusive Spanish Topps Series 2 holographic set. Hope it helps!
