Rarity is dynamic! You can make any card, even the PSA 10 1st Charizard, the rarest card in terms of population report (and in case of Illustrator also in terms of copies in existence) just by buying the remaining 120 (38) copies and burning them.

I have a 1/1 fossil magmar with bbq sauce on it from when I was a kid. I’d say thats the rarest card

I have a burned Gold star Mewtwo which survived a fire at my friend’s high- school home. Since fossil Magmar is a far more common card, and spilled BBQ sauce is a far more likely event than a house fire, it’s far more likely (less rare) for the combination of things to create my Gold Star Mewtwo would be far less likely (more rare) than to create your Magmar, Even though we don’t know that there are more copies.
