I started this thread because I wanted to share more of my experience buying and selling on Vinted, and felt that the Ebay Garbage Thread was not a 100% fit for the full scope of the kind of garbage that Vinted has to offer.
As a seller on Vinted, I despise these listings. At least with “mystery packs” in real stores there are legal standards that need to be upheld. With this there is just no way that the seller would add an expensive cards. This is just a way to get rid of your bulk.
Whenever I see one of these types of listings, I report them. I always get this automatic message after a couple of minutes have passed. “Careful consideration”. Sure.
These are new “investors” looking for PSA slabs to buy, but they can barely do any research. Or are they playing dumb? Frustrating either way for sure!
Edit to add, they shut down Vinted here in 2024 because it became a circus act. The “performers” moved on to Poshmark, whatnot, etc. Very sad to see that it is still the same old platform I knew and avoided, haha.
No wonder my search results look wild when I look up a certain pokemon card.
There should be an automatic system for too many # in a listing description. They have a system for limiting capital letters in a title, but not for these monstrosities?
Most of my interactions selling slabs on Vinted were people trying to get discounts because it’s “market”. Put my profile on vacation a couple of months ago, but this was my average interaction:
The slab was at 120€. Passing on something you’re “really interested “ in because of a 12€ price difference, lol. And yes, it was the cheapest available on eBay/Cardmarket/Vinted.
Thanks, Vinted. I’m so glad they’re taking action on my own listings where I take extra care to photograph my cards nicely. Of course any listings that I report with obvious fake cards or fraudulent listings are perfectly fine.
In my experience people have been genuine.
I had a buyer offer me 20 eur for a WCP unlimited. After I calmed down, I explained the history of WCP unlimited and the buyer agreed that the card was worth paying full price.
Sometimes I think people are just unaware of what LP or NM stands for. Do they just see these letters in other listings and add them, thinking that it fits?
