Does anyone have any info on these Chinese cards? I’ve seen them referred to online as Pokemon ID but I’m getting conflicting information as to whether they were bootlegs or official non-TCG cards. Any clarification or little bits of info about them would be amazing. Thank you in advance!

Yes they were as official as possible and exclusive to possibly subcontinent Asia. You could get these cards free with every purchase of Kellogg’s Chocos cereal.

I have a question, hope it wasn’t covered before.
I just ordered a set of mini-cards which I believe were distributed in complete sheets (see picture below, not mine) in a Shogakukan Kindergarten issue of December. Not to be mixed up with the set with red and green borders that was released in 2000
I searched for a while but I haven’t been able to identify which issue specifically. My guess is December 1998 or 1999. Would love to know which year exactly and/or see a the cover of that magazine, if anyone can help.

Out of curiosity, because I’m looking to buy them online, how much did you pay your TFG Groundbreakers cards? And where did you find them? All I can find right now is a single listing for a Mewtwo for 3k on eBay.
Realize this is not really trading card related, but can anyone help identify this Snorlax piece from 1999? The whole thing seems to made of a rubber/plastisol like material that the base is made from. I didn’t want to post another thread on it and this is the closest thing I could find related to the identification topics. I’ve tried searching online for it, but nothing matched up exactly. I did find another one on what seems like another country’s craigslist that had a blue base instead of a purple, but had no identification on the actual item as it was included in a lot. It’s probably just one of those niche pokemon branded items like the pencil sharpeners were back in the 90s, but I was hoping to identify it.

I haven’t posted in a while, but here’s something I came across while I was at the local Asian grocery store. This is a box of flavored kombucha from Korea. The brand is Damtuh. The actual kombucha are effectively powdered juice in sachet sticks.
This is what the sticker pack and actual sticker look like.
These are puffy stickers. They measure 5.5 x 5.5 cm, and they are 1 mm thick. The whole setlist doesn’t seem to be hard to find online. There’s 44 different stickers.
I picked one up to see if I can get the Gardy, but I got a Dragonite instead.
Anyone know what this is? I went to go post it on Instagram and then realized I had no idea, and Google reverse image search isn’t finding anything. I’m guessing @bbobrob might know because well, he sent it to me

A seller sent this to me as a gift when buying something else.
Doing google image search we quickly found the keywords “Nissui mini card” with a single ebay seller who is selling them. But I cant find anything else to cross-validate.
It’s a shiritori (the Japanese word game) card. I’ve seen them around on Mercari JP. Not sure on release date.
Comes with kamaboko, or what seems to be fish cake.

Edit: yours is from the Advanced Generation series, while the set above is from Diamond and Pearl. They were likely released in a similar manner, however.

Is there any guide or inventory of the possible technics to search an info on the web ? It seems like image search is pretty basic
Generally, it is easier to find non-TCG Pokemon items on the Japanese internet, so searching in Japanese will help find blog posts (as was done here), or Mercari.jp/Yahoo Auctions listings.
The following also helps:
Using image search in conjunction with searching in Japanese, i.e, using Google’s option to add text to the image search.
Knowing the logos of various food products in Japan with Pokemon collaborations (e.g. Meiji, Nissui) and using those search terms.
Searching the reverse sides of cards, as these are more generalizable to multiple different cards rather than giving the search result of the Pokemon on the card.
Having an idea of when a product may have been released and searching the year in conjunction with the rest of the search terms.
Knowing some basic relevant vocabulary in Japanese to aid in searches, i.e. be able to search “unopened box” in Japanese.
