Some of you may remember me from years ago, and I am happy to be back on the forum! I appreciate the mods’ help in getting me back on. I’d particularly like to thank @fourthstartcg , who I was lucky enough to meet back in August at Worlds!
A little back story: I collected heavily when I was a kid back in 1999-2002 or so, and I stopped for many years until a flood destroyed most of my remaining childhood collection back in 2017. That re-lit the spark (at a good time!) and a trip to Japan in 2018 helped cement that even more. I got pushed evenfurther back into collecting, and particularly errors, when @cataclysm80 visited CGC’s offices in 2020 with a CRAZY binder of MTG errors, which also included a Protostoise! I since did the analysis and wrote the authentication article for the first four graded by CGC, including that very same card we saw in 2020.
I actually did collect errors when I was a kid, although they would all be considered variants now. For example, I once pulled (and noticed!) an Evolution Box Wartortle error at Pokémon League at Books a’ Million back in 2000 when I was 10. Wild times.
Anywho, now I mostly collect errors, as well as gemmy vintage Japanese cards. I also started dabbling in signed cards. Below are some of my favorites I think ya’ll might like!
Thanks! Yeah it’s one of my favorites! I don’t have very many vintage errors, and it’s definitely one of the best that I know of.
It was actually the only one known for a while, but a few more have come out of the woodwork since I bought it.
I also know there’s some neo C/UC with double printed backs as well, but they were all low grade. Still awesome errors though and I’d love to own one eventually!
Welcome back. I know how it feels to lose your entire childhood collection. Not a good feeling! I’ve been trying to build my collection up to its former glory myself.
Looks like you’re on the right path! Love those error cards. I’ve never seen the double printing error on your Togepi before.
Welcome back @ucfjag . Great to see you posting again and also pretty special collection of cards. That printed fold over error is something I have never seen before. Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection and looking forward to more of your updates.
