Submitting for PSA...

How does it work? I was confused by the membership page and what the membership allows you. Can anyone explain the process in layman’s terms? I have a ton of cards I want to grade and want to have a better idea of what I’m getting into. What is the price per card, what does the membership actually offer and anything else that should be considered. I’m looking for help from people who have experience grading and have graded fairly recently. I’ve tried making sense of what they have on their website but for whatever reason I can’t wrap my mind around it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I recommend you reach out to @funmonkey54 with Ludkins Collectables

This is how I grade becauseI don’t send in a lot of cards at all, and I don’t have time or energy to put into filling out a form and doing all the nonsense that comes with grading yourself!

Thanks for the contact info! I’m looking to do the grading myself, but I’ll reach out and see if they would want to help me get started. I have a realistic idea of what I’m working with grade wise and I have a bunch of cards along with some cards from friends. If there isn’t already a thread containing all of this info, this might be a great place to have it publicly rather that lost in our DMs.

Any particular reason?

Ludkins price is lower, shipping is free, you do no work, it goes faster than bulk, comes with free cardsavers, and is fully insured.

Thanks for that! I’ll rreach out to them as well. I’m really looking to do it myself along with a friend of mine. We worked with someone what was grading at $11 a card, but what had us concerned was that there were several people he was working with that had had all the same cards going through. Everyone is grading charizards and I’d feel safer if mine didn’t get mixed up in the shuffle, not that it happens but it would put our minds at ease if we did it ourselves.

No sweat. Hit me up. I can match PSA direct pricing for bulk, set you up with your own solo sub with your friend and no one else on it, and still get all the other perks worked in for you.

That sounds great, but I was hoping someone could answer my previous questions publicly. What do you mean by setting us up with our own Sub? would we still be going through you? and how much would you charge for individual cards rather than bulk? We really want to get set up with PSA directly and were hoping for some help from those of you who use it.

Also, is ludkins EU based? I’m in the US. I ask because they reference a currency other than dollars.

US office also in Leesburg, Virginia.

It’s PSA directly bulk prices without return shipping, membership, or added insurance costs.

It does seem like a lot at first, but once you’ve gone through the process it becomes a lot easier the next time you want to submit.

This guy’s video will probably answer 95% of your questions.

The trickiest part of the whole thing is the concept of “declared value,” which roughly equates to, the higher the value the card, the more it costs to grade it. The ambiguity of that last statement (who determines value? how am I supposed to know what it will grade? etc.) makes this part annoying for new submitters, but if you’re not grossly off the mark you’ll be fine.

Watch a few video guides on YouTube, start your submission process on their site, and if you have more questions while you’re going through everything then feel free to ask again here.

Sorry to hijack a bit here but does ludkins do sports cards, and are the prices cheaper/same as sending yourself? Do you need to catalog the cards? There are so many variants in sports, not sure if they have the knowledge to know what all the cards are/called.

This Video was beyond helpful, thank you so much! I could swear it wasn’t that easy the last time I checked… which was almost a year, if not longer, ago.

I just submitted my first three batches in the last 30 days let me know if you have any questions

How many cards have you submitted? Did you use the online submission form and what service did you use?

First batch was Economy sent 6 cards with the sub vouchers. This second batch did 3 cards standard and 51 card bulk submission. I don’t expect to see them for 6 months lol it’s been 4 weeks on the first order and still hasn’t been registered even though they received the package. Yea the online forms are easy once you do it once. They updated the forms a bit.

Yes, we do sports.

Cheaper because you skip return shipping and other fees while also not having to type them, find cardsavers, etc.

Back to Pokemon real quick. Now I have better, not complete, idea of what’s going on with PSA and I think I might wanna go through Ludkins. I’m going to read through the literature, but is there anything I should keep in mind going forward?
