Thank you for stopping by to look at my Slow collection!
Like many of us here, I collected Pokemon cards as a kid. One day, many years later, I was going through my old cards and noticed I had five Slowpokes. I thought to myself, “what if I got more Slowpokes?” and the rest is history. It started as one whole binder page of Slowpokes, then a whole binder section, then an additional Slowpoke binder… and it just kept growing! I totally fell in love with this delightful pink creature and evolutions thereof.
My collection scope includes all TCG Slowpokes, Slowbros & Slowkings in all languages, and a cameo art set. I also pick up non-TCG items when I see them, and I love error cards, plushies, keychains, and all things Slow.
P.S. The Slowpoke illustration in the banner image is from the Dondon Donkan Yan? series at the Japanese Pokemon Center – check it out, it’s really cute!
Welcome to E4! It’s great to see some representation from species collectors of “less popular” Pokemon! Looking forward to seeing a post of the full binder once you get it all together!
Welcome @slowqueen! My wife is also a lover of the slowpoke line so I really appreciate what you’re putting together here! Can’t wait to see more! Check out @brendantheclayboy and their collection thread when you get a chance! They have an amazing collection of all things slow!
Welcome to e4! I love Slowking as well. It’s one of my favorite Gen 2 Pokemon. I’m so glad to meet another person who appreciates Slowking and the Slow- evolution line.
I thought you might appreciate my goofy Slowking signed by Midori Harada.
A great set of pokemon to collect! I love the Slowpoke line, and your Instagram pictures are a treasure to look at! Especially the one with the Mega Slowbro. It seems like you also collect non-TCG? If so, it’s always awesome to see another non-TCG species collector
Very warm welcome to the forums @slowqueen . Super awesome to see a species collector for a great Pokemon Evo line. I really love Slowpoke as a Pokemon and I am really looking forward to seeing your collection thread get populated by your binder collection. Hope you have an amazing time interacting with others on E4.
This is a crazy collection! I have been collecting English language slowpokes and unique artwork/promo’s of other languages for a while now and I thought I had them all but it seems like I wasn’t even close. I will definitely be using your collection for reference. How do you find out about non-English/Japanese releases?
So glad to meet another fan of Slowpoke! There are definitely a lot of promos and a few unique artworks/holo patterns in other languages, including the new GYM stamp promos that just came out in Japanese/Traditional Chinese, and soon Thai and likely Indonesian as well. I have a complete template list of all of the Slows in all languages here if it’s useful for you: All-Language Slowpoke, Slowbro, & Slowking Template - Google Sheets
For finding out about new releases, for promos I usually check Bulbapedia every couple of weeks and look to see if any new ones came out. As for deck and set cards, I usually look out for those after English/Japanese set releases. I also plan to keep that template list updated so you’re welcome to check back there.
Best of luck with your collection, feel free to ask if you have any questions!
Thanks for the collection link, I’ll put it to good use! I may make a blog myself one day for my slowpoke collection, it is very nice to find like minded collectors. I no longer feel like I’m alone in my crazy obsession, we can be crazy together .
I may be looking in the wrong spot but I think you are missing a french card in your list which is a language exclusive jumbo card of Slowpoke & Psyduck (Ramoloss et Pyskokwak) from Unified Minds. Linked here: Coffret Ramoloss et Pyskokwak-GX — Poképédia
Awesome, yes please let me know if you find anything missing there! I’m aware of the jumbos but I kept the spreadsheet to just normal-size cards, haha. In addition to the Slowpoke & Psyduck jumbo there is also a Galarian Slowking V french-exclusive jumbo
