Selling to Gamestop/taxes

So I sold some graded cards to gamestop and they paid me through venmo but I never received a 1099k even though I sold above the threshold for tax purposes. How would I go about filing this with turbotax? This is my first time filing anything more than a basic return. Thanks in advance for any help!

do they really pay via venmo?

Sounds like a manager is taking cards at 60% value and reselling on the side.

You serious, Clark?

What’s the threshold you’re referring to? Technically any profit from reselling collectibles is income and therefore taxable

Yeah they do. Its a bit of an odd process (including having a scanner read your venmo QR code), but does work out in the end.

Huh, well you learn something new every day. I guess Venmo is as legit as any other method. Just seems weird. Idk unprofessional maybe?

If it was venmo friends and family it doesn’t count towards the $5,000 limit from 2024

The 600 dollar threshold I was referring to. I was under the impression if you sold goods over the limit you’d automatically receive a form. So I’m confused if I file using a 1099K or another form. Sorry about the confusion. I honestly regret selling a part of my collection but it is what it is.

The threshold was $5000 for 2024.

Didn’t know Gary was part of DOGE. Can’t wait to see him interview along side Elon

I was actually shocked when he took a suit case of $150k cash from Logan ON CAMERA lol

A classic meme :upside_down_face:
