I had a customer, well I guess technically they were never a customer since they never paid, but they made multiple offers over a month. Every offer was, “I mis-typed”. These were not consecutive, maybe one per week.
So I got the item and it was a good deal for me at $125 even though I should have had it for $88 (you can see the last legit bid was at $75 + ship). Can anyone interpret this any way besides shill bidding? Want to make sure before I leave negative feedback and report him for shilling. I am the 504 feedback, the 49 feedback is his suspected shill account.
I messaged him twice over the last week with no reply. This was my original message
"I noticed something strange when viewing the bid history for this item. It seems the 3rd place bidder dropped out at $75, I was second at about $110 and the winner won at $113, only one bid increment above me. They took the bid from $75 up to one increment above my max in a fast manner but over 13 bids. Looking at their bid history, they have done 100% of their bidding on your items. You also sent the second chance offer fairly quickly after the end of the auction. This is typically indicative of shill bidding. If there is another explanation, please offer it up for me.
Thank you"
I figured had he fessed up and offered to refund the ~$40 I would have left a neutral and mentioned it, but now I am going to go all out negative and watch his future listings and report it every time I see it. Avoid 562chefjeff.
it does look and sound like a shill bid, the suspected shill bidder bid over a period of 5 days so was obviously keen, and you said you got the second chance offer quickly which is a big red flag, and he’s not responding to your messages
