I agree with you @randox the only thing about grading the cards is that they’re very difficult to grade and you’ll do good to break even on 9s (except for mew). So while I personally think $3-400 is low I can see why the market settles at that point. If I had extras I would keep them until they broke the $500 mark at least.
Last year I was lucky enough to find a binder on the annual flea market. This binder was of course not sealed but the cards were in near mint condition and I sold it for €125. The $150 sell for a sealed is therefore definitely a steal!
@engadgeter nice! I’ve definitely noticed the prices of the opened binders going up in price. Back when mercari gave out coupons regularly they did a 30% off any item for christmas. I snagged the binder and complete NM/M set for $45 shipped lol
That’s a very nice price and a great item to have in your collection. I sold mine as I only collect Japanese cards and this gave me some additional funds to purchase some cards as was looking for.
Prices for sealed southern islands seems to be climbing… Anyone know how plentiful in supply these would be? I mean sealed ones. Seems like it won’t be long to reach the $1k mark.
I bought a complete sealed japanese set for about $65 CAN a year or two ago. Pretty happy with that purchase, glad to see it increase in price. I am surprised that mew hasn’t sky rocketed honestly, I think it is literally one of the best artworks in the hobby. And it technically has charizard in the artwork so…
