Can someone elaborate on the ditto non holo? I had no idea that even existed but can’t really find it
I’m a bit confused by it too. As far as I can tell it looks exactly like a copy you would get from a 151 pack.

Basically the Ditto you pull from packs is a holographic card. But from this toolkit, you get a ditto that looks the same but it is a plain non-holo card from this product.

That might be the worst possible variant of a card I’ve had to collect for a master set. Hopefully it’s cheap
And now there are four more cards in the queue for 151 Master Sets with the announced Blooming Waters Premium Collection for February. It never ends.
I was told of an Alakazam ex without stars in the holofoil. Here’s a link to an eBay listing that might prove that exists. I bought one and will report back and see if it’s a legit variation, similar to the variations in the foil Energy in 151.

I’ll report back when I receive it. It’s more than likely an error of the printer missing the stars on the sheet but idk, probably not a variant like the retro and neo cosmos prints of cards like the Energy and Poster Collection Kanto starters
I’ve owned the Alakazam ex Promo without the holographic stars for awhile. I accidentally found it while I was looking for the Abra holo variants on eBay. It’s not well known, so it probably won’t be officially considered a variant until the masses acknowledge it. Although it could be considered an error as the star holograph wasn’t applied, personally I classify it as a variant because it was released in a production run in decent enough numbers for it to be found. At the very least, it’s not a one-off. I came across my copy roughly 8 months ago from a reseller in Hawaii.

Although you’re right that it’s a repeating error, I’d still say it’s a misprint and not an official variant. They were intended to be released with stars, but some were printed without it by accident. Even if there are hundreds of copies like that, if it wasn’t intended, it’s a (repeating) error. Kinda like the Ghost stamp Base Set Pikachu or the “d”-edition Jungle Butterfree. There are loads of those, but it’s in the end still a misprint.
I’ve also seen a Pikachu ex from a different set with the same issue btw (not mine, unfortunately):

I tend to agree that it’s more of printing error rather than a variant, but I have a feeling that some will still consider it a must for a true master / grandmaster set (whichever people prefer to call it).
Any chance that the cosmos Holo cards from the 151 min tins 5 pack get released in the UK/Europe? Has it ever happened before?
Mimikyu ex boxes also had this issue making the card look extremely dull.
A little off topic, but did anyone see that 151 Master Set on ebay with both Professor Program Voltorb Variants? Dude is asking 50k. PSA 9 Cosmos Professor Voltorb sold two weeks ago for 10k, its regular reverse holo goes for about 2-3k, and the master set goes for under 2k. Absolutely crazy number. Definitely not worth it, especially when the Cosmos Voltorb has two damaged corners.
At this point, I hope Pokemon gives more of the Voltorb variant away. 1 out of 12 makes it virtually impossible to ever complete a true master set.
Yeah I saw that. Absolutely bonkers. I’m also shocked to see the 151 has gone up so fast. It was around 400 in summer.
The cosmo foil one going for 10 shocked me as well. That wasn’t an accepted best offer, was it? Thank god I have one already because it’s getting out of hand lol

Yeah, it was an accepted offer. I think it was originally listed for 15k. I only know it sold for 10k because I clicked watch when I saw the listing and ebay sent the got away email with the sold price. Very crazy. I remember when the Reverse Holo one was going for 300-500, and most thought the Cosmos one would be like 2k max. Both are now 5x that on average.
I hope they give out more of the cosmos Holo version. Do you have a link to those 2 sold listings? I can’t find them
reviving this topic. Doing some scanning today. Thought I’d bring this back. @Llyrwenne can add these to the OP. Essentially a nice concise and consistent visual evidence of every card with known variations.
This is everything I personally have two variations for so far. I actually realized this was happening before people noticed it in the 151 enegies with spidops and smoliv. So thats just a tidbit of time frame info. This started sneakily without anyone really making mention of it. I certainly complained about it since I was fishing for
swirls and got the reprinted versions in a fat order of like 20 each from tcg player. Egg on my face for sure.

Does anyone know if the Blooming Waters 151 Promos are unique or just reprints? From the images I have seen of those who already have the product, all four look like reprints. Can’t confirm with the Bulbasaur and Squirtle though, as the foil pattern to the reverse holos could be different like the Costco ones.
I have a Blooming Waters in hand and I can confirm that they are not unique in any way. The exact same cards are available in the booster packs.
