I love this one.
Some documentation on Meiji Pokémon Ice Cream lottery stickers. I could not find information on these stickers online on the English internet. I hope that this is a good starting point for more information if needed.
Meiji (明治) ran various promotions with their Ice Cream Bars involving Pokémon and lottery stickers. These are stickers that can be redeemed for a prize (or points towards a prize), through sending them in through the mail depending on whether or not you “won” after peeling the sticker off.
The larger 8cm by 8cm stickers were released in boxes of ice cream bars (?), while the smaller 4cm by 5cm or 4cm by 4cm stickers were released with individually-wrapped 100 yen ice cream bars.
-
Note 1: The above link doesn’t include all of the stickers described here (only the circular Lucky Chance stickers as well as two Original Goods stickers), but because of the similar size I am guessing that the rest follow the same pattern.
-
Note 2: The auction site lists the 8cm by 8cm stickers as “extras from boxed ice cream” (ボックス売りのアイスのオマケ). I am not entirely sure if this means the ice cream was in a box or it was a box of ice cream bars.
The deadlines in the year 1998 are written using the era system, and written as Heisei 10. This means 1998.
All of the names of these promotions are taken from the back of the stickers, which state the name of the promotion in Japanese.
I was unable to find what products these promotions could be redeemed for, if won, for all products except W Chance.

Uses anime artwork.
Ice Cream Bar - Rectangle - 5cm by 4 cm
I was able to source a wrapper image for this ice cream bar, with the stated deadline of 1999-03-31.
The back of this wrapper states that recieving a “Get” mark means you would receive a keychain, while collecting 6 points enters you into a drawing to recieve a Pokemon-themed wristwatch.
This wrapper calls the bar “ラクトアイス” (lacto ice). According to Jisho (ラクトアイス - Jisho.org), this means “ice cream with milk-solids content of 3% or greater”.
Ice Cream Box - Square - 8cm by 8 cm
Meiji Pokémon Ice Get - ????

Includes Generation II Pokémon.
I could not find a year for these stickers.
Ice Get Bar - Rectangle - 5cm by 4 cm

Undated Wrappers
I found these additional bar wrappers. I could not tie them to a specific sticker, but they state "Lucky Chance" on the outside.Additionally, they state the chance to win an “original illustration” on the back. Searching up “Meiji Ice Cream Lottery Poster” brings up listings containing this poster on eBay, some of which cite that they were from Meiji Ice Cream lottery prizes.
Bandai Vending Machine/Gachapon Displays
I’ve found these to be useful when identifying. Additionally, these provide more detail than is offered by some grading companies, i.e. the specific parts in which they were released.
I will keep updating this as I find more.

More information on Nagatanien Pokemon Paper Menko, from curry and hotcake mix. Names for variations are ones I made up, as I could not find any existing names.
[Year?] Nagatanien Pokemon Curry - Big Thin Border
永谷園 ポケモンカレー
These have thin colored borders, and are 4 inches by 4 inches in size.
1998 (?) Nagatanien Pokemon Hotcake Mix - Small Thin Border
ポケモンホットケーキミックス
These have thin colored borders, and are 3 inches by 3 inches in size. The expiration date on the cup lists it as 1998-11-10.
(Not sure if there are more holo variations for this one.)
This article details more about the differences between the large and small menko: 永谷園 ポケモンカレー ホットケーキ メンコの違いについて | Hello-Mac Club
1998 (?) Nagatanien Pokemon Curry - Big Thick Border
永谷園 ポケモンカレー
These have thicker colored boarders, and are 4 inches by 4 inches in size.
Was also involved in a lottery campaign, which ran from 1998-06-01 - 1998-08-31. This shows they were produced during at least 1998.
2001 (?) Nagatanien Pokemon Curry - New Big (Spiky Border)
永谷園 ポケモンカレー
These have large spiked borders, and are 4 inches by 4 inches in size (the size was given by the eBay listing these photos were taken from).
The picture below gives an expiration date of 2001-11-16.

Some notes and images on Amada/Ensky Pokemon Kakumen Restuden Menko (the rectangular ones). Images from Yahoo Auctions/Mercari.
The types of the menko are fixed; i.e. each Pokemon will always be the same rarity - for example, a Deoxys will always be a Special Menko (Holo).
Examples of individual menko are either checked with the setlist, taken from online listings that show opened packaging that shows the correct part, taken from this blog (トレジャーハンティン部、部長のブログ) which shows the correct part, or selecting using images of the packaging (i.e. a picture of the menko is on the packaging or included in the package).
Advanced Generation Kakumen Retsuden
There are types of menko for this set:
- Normal Menko - ノーマルメンコ
- Rare Menko (Foil Stamp) - レアメンコ (箔押し)
– The name of the Pokemon has been stamped in foil. - Special Menko (Holo) - スペシャルメンコ (ホロ)
– These names do not seem to be stamped in foil.
Part 1 & 2 have gold foil backs, while Part 3 & 4 have red/green foil backs.
It seems that the foil distribution is random: Pokemon can either have a red foil or a green foil back.
Additionally, the background and layout is subtly different between Part 1/2 vs. Part 3/4.

Advanced Generation Kakumen Retsuden Kai
There are three types of menko for this set:
- Normal Menko - ノーマルメンコ
- Rare Menko (Shining Foil Stamp) - レアメンコ (箔押しキラ)
– The name of the Pokemon has been stamped in foil.
– These seem to have a “cracked ice holo” effect. - Special Menko (Holo) - スペシャルメンコ (ホロ)
– These seem to sometimes have the name of the Pokemon stamped in foil. More research needed.
The only difference is the text for “rare menko” is slightly different.
The numbers on the menko line up with the Pokedex number.

Diamond and Pearl Kakumen Retsuden
There are three types of menko for this set:
- Normal Menko - ノーマルメンコ
- Rare Menko (Shining Foil Stamp) - レアメンコ (箔押しキラ)
– The name of the Pokemon has been stamped in foil.
– These seem to have a “cracked ice holo” effect. - Special Menko (Holo Foil Stamp) - スペシャルメンコ (箔押しホロ)
The only difference is the text for “special menko” is slightly different.
The numbers on the Menko do not line up with the Pokedex number of the Pokemon. A number beginning with “R” indicates rare, and “S” indicates special.
Here, Pokemon can have both holo and non-holo variants, but the holos are fixed, i.e. only Pokemon that have a number beginning with R or S will have those versions.

This is an absolutely stunning resource. I am sure, you put lots of hours into this. Thank you. ![]()
I did not know, how many different sets were released. Are you aware of any set lists that show the featured Pokémon?
Thank you for your kind words.
I was able to find 3 setlists above - one for Kakumen Retsuden Kai Part 1, Part 2, and one for DP Kakumen Retsuden Part 1 - they’re in Japanese, and part of the manual/setlist dropdowns.
It seems that these manuals are included in the packaging for the sealed packs, as they also contain instructions on how to play. I was unable to locate online any other setlists, but it is likely they exist for all of the series and individual parts.
More Chinese/Taiwanese Morinaga products requested by @Julius19 a while ago, that I have gotten around to identifying. Years of manufacture are approximate, more research is needed.
1999 (?) Morinaga Milk Caramel Candy (?)
Source description: “The premium in these which were in the top box are lenticular stickers (while the bottom box has caramels). The lenticular action is caught in this composite pic taken from slightly different angles catch charmander transforming/evolving.”
Source description: “The premium in these which were in the top box are puffy lenticular stickers (which figures in with the evolving themes of the graphics on the top boxes, while the bottom box has Morinaga caramels).”
- The original source describes these as Japanese, although they are from China. It also describes these as “Pokemon Caramel Stickers”. I can’t quite read the text on the packages or get OCR to scan them well enough to Google Translate, but I can make out the character for cow, which might refer to cows’ milk.

1999 (?) Morinaga Chocolate Cookies Stickers/Figures
友友球 in Chinese (friend ball) seems to refer to a cookie similar to those “Hello Panda Chocolate Cookies”.
Source description: " Morinaga’s cookies and cute figures! Oh, and a collector’s card with each as well. Shown here is Snorlax, Sandshrew, and Dragonite. These are from 1999 (as well as Nintendo/Sho-Pro licensed) so a bit harder to find now."
1999 (?) Morinaga Chocolate Balls - Keychain Lights
(Julius didn’t ask me to identify this, but I found it anyways on the path to identify the others).
Source description: “POKEMON Swing Lights - In the bottom of the package are chocoballs (one being eaten by Pikachu so we’ll know what we are supposed to do… I can’t help it, it’s still really cute). In the top box is the premium which is a small light that is also a swing to attach to keys and or packbacks or other important places.”

So happy you did, thank you! I have one of these and have been wanting to ask you to ID it for months. Big fan of the unpeeled stickers
User @Skitariiposting sent me a DM with items to identify.
Pokemon Advanced Generation Ginpika Medal (Page 2) - Shogakukan Yōchien Magazine - July 2004 Issue
Your Feebas can be seen on this page.
Additionally, here are other pictures of pages I was able to find.
These were given out as a supplement (furoku) for Shogakukan’s Yōchien magazine, a magazine targeted towards toddlers. Here is the issue that it came from.
These have continued to the present day, as seen in this more recent example.
Skitariiposting mentioned:
- “I’m unsure if this is a Menko card or not? It seems a bit too small and flimsy to be one.”
My response to that is: Menko can be small and flimsy, so I would not be surprised. It also has the “rock, paper, scissors” game built into it, which is common on Japanese menko. However, I am not an expert on Japanese menko, so please take that statement with a grain of salt.
More items from @Skitariiposting .
2023 Pokémon Últimas Evoluciones Colección I (Crealaser/Editorial Monarca) - Holo

The layout of the cards matches your Feebas.
There is also a non-holo Feebas in this set:
2018 Pokémon Ultra Vol. 4 (3Reyes) - Non-holo
Unofficial merchandise.
A poster advertising it can be seen here. The layout of the cards matches your Feebas.
Here is a picture of the collection binder:
While the exact set is not shown, a fan checklist (“fanmade by Orlando Minano of Facebook”) from the website below states Feebas is in Vol. 4.

Oh, I spot a Seviper!
I think I do already have this loose Seviper Menko (it’s this one on the left in the picture below, right?), but I might try to locate this unpeeled page.
Do you perhaps know which Shogakukan’s Yōchien magazine volume the Seviper came from (and perhaps also the volume the first one in my picture above came from)? ![]()
I have seen the full sheet of the first Menko above, but not sure what magazine it’s from:
Greetz,
Quuador
The Seviper in the set described earlier is from the same magazine issue, but on the third page (all the pages I posted should be from the same magazine issue), so it would be (Pokemon Advanced Generation Ginpika Medal (Page 3) - Shogakukan Yōchien Magazine - July 2004 Issue). We know this, because the front of the magazine advertises 100 medals, and all three pages together would be 100 medals. (It also states page 3).
As for your other Seviper:
Pokemon Ginpika Medal 395 (Part 3) - Shogakukan Yōchien Magazine - October 2006 Issue
Edit 2: It seems that these were split up across multiple issues: Part 2 being September 2006, and Part 3 being October 2006. I wasn’t able to conclusively find a date for Part 1, but I would guess it to be August 2006.
Edit 3: Found all three parts–each page was released in August (Part 1), September (Part 2), and October (Part 3) issues respectively.
Here are all the relevant pictures I was able to find:
Your Seviper can be found on Page 3 in the picture above (middle bottom in this full picture).
It seems to also have come with this insert:
Edit: I found pictures of the magazine:
Edit 2: Included ones for September. The one for September shows that it only includes part 2:
Edit 3: found all the parts:
August 2006 Issue (Part 1)
September 2006 Issue (Part 2)
October 2006 Issue (Part 3)
The top right here on the page in the middle states Heisei 18 (2006), 9th month (September), and that it is from the Yōchien magazine, which gives us the issue. (It is the small black text above the red rectangle, as well as the purple rectangle in the top right, so it can be hard to read).
Edit: perhaps below is the print date, not the release date; the actual magazine images are for October 2006.
Edit 2: I see what has happened here: each one of these pages was released in a different issue. See above.
While identifying other merchandise, I came across pictures of various Thai merchandise may be useful to document; this may be of use to species collectors. Heavy use of Google Translate was used, so descriptions may not be accurrate. I have copy-pasted the original listing titles to aid in Google searches.
