Fully cash out at a million dollars, and go all in on ornamental gourd futures on October 31st.

Gourds were a great deal at folk festivals for a long time but ever since big-halloween took interest, prices have shot up and made it hard for anyone new to get into the gourd game.

I truly hope I never NEED to sell my collection. I’d like to be an old lady and have binders full of Slowpokes to parouse

Hard to say.

$7 PSA easy old standard 10’s across the board à la King Metazoo and other hahbee titans? I’d be a multi millionaire with that unrepeatable unicorn scenario.

$50 8.5-9.5’s CGC/TAG/EMA/FUK-grading hyper-scrutinized, pop-controlled family pack value option for the middle class oriented vendor sniffing out regrades? My whole collection is worth a new Caravelle with the business trim.

The fact that my best real chance at owning a house is in my pokemon cards is very indicative of modern issues…

The only reason for me to sell would be to fund extravagances my kids might ask me for in the future

Anything personal i couldn’t bring myself to sell and i have plenty other hobbies which cost money

If you junkies haven’t sold out yet at 100x you probably won’t be any time soon

I am already in the “retirement modus”…
Selling my left overs, not all at once but bit by bit.
Enjoying the selling as much as the collecting back in the days.

I have to much old bulk left to really “sell out” short notice (unless I sell it as bulk)

Plan is to do some more shows the next 1,2 or 3 years.
As far as my collection goes, I have to wait untill PSA opens again to complete my graded collection.

So what we actually did (and do) is traveling to bigger shows, bring cards I want to sell and let those pay for the trip. Great retirement.

But theoretical possible gains hit so much harder than realized gains

Use the money I make from selling my cards to finance a campaign for Logan Paul’s arrest.

This is one of those threads you wanna come back to in 20 years and talk about. Im interested in the outcome for alot of people, and how theyll handle each individual collection of theirs over time. I swallowed an everstone when I was 7, and its unfortunate that mine isnt possible to be sold. :upside_down_face:

My cost basis on everything I own is $0 since last October
So I only plan to sell if I am in dire straights

I have no debt and could technically retire right now. There’s no reason for me to sell anything, and thank goodness for that because it would be very difficult to part with anything I’ve collected over the years. Like slowqueen, I will grow old with my childrens toys haha

I thought you were supposed to work for money to buy shiny things to enjoy, not buy shiny things to enjoy for money. Maybe I’ve been living my life wrong.
