Helpful considerations: As a child or adult? On the weekend when you can focus? When the majority of the fanbase is awake and deals can be made? 1am as you scroll through endless overpriced listings?
5 years ago on the O’Hare runway taking off, bought a $500 binder on ebay and the purchase went through seconds before losing service. Needed a couple of the cards that alone made up the entire value. The rest was all for trades
I must admit, with a mindset change, I have been enjoying it quite a bit lately. Going for the chinese umbreon set (is what I call it) in all pokeball rarities is fun and affordable.
I enjoy collecting in the quiet of the night. There is something very peaceful about scrolling through auctions, filling out excel tables, discovering new cards, setting new goals, writing posts on e4, etc. Setting time aside each day to enjoy my hobbies helps to keep me sane when life is busy!
