The Question of the Day is a way to facilitate community discussion to help members ponder the unanswered questions of the world that are somehow relating to the hobby. Questionsj are many times open ended and up to interpretation. Feel free to post your thoughts in as much or as little detail as you’d like.
Helpful Considerations may or may not help some people focus their answer, these are blurred to not bother those who have their own ideas.
Since final evolution Pokemon are usually heavier and final evolution cards are more likely to be holographic or have other special treatments there is probably a decent positive correlation. Between species though it’s easy to think of cases where heavier Pokemon sell for less, like Sandstorm Wailord ex compared to Legend Maker Mew ex.
I believe the card value is a biomodal distribution. Higher on either end of the u curve. People will pay more for diminutive “tiny” Pokemon or rotund “large” Pokemon and show less interest in those Pokemon of midline weights and sizes
This is my thought as well. Many Basic Pokemon are super popular and are tiny because they haven’t evolved yet. Similarly, many Stage 2 Pokemon are super popular and are huge because they have evolved twice.
As an example, Charmander and Charizard are much more popular than Chameleon. You spend the most time with them and they’re the most recognizable. Middle evolutions are chronically left out.
