PSA Raises Grading Prices, Bulk Grading Up $6/Card

Considering CGC just increased their prices a month ago, and their current turnaround times are like 2-3 weeks for bulk, 1 week for economy, I’m very much hoping they’ll stick with their current prices and actually get some cards in.

The combination of $12 bulk (with elite membership) and less than a month turnaround times makes CGC very attractive in this market. Less than half the price to grade with them than PSA.

My main issue with the grading cost these days isn’t so much the cost itself but the roulette wheel of grading. A $12 roulette spin isn’t as bad as a $25 spin if you lose.

Yep, very much so. I’ve done a few submissions to CGC now from the UK, and the difference between paying £11~ for a 7 day door to door submission vs my PSA submissions being nearly £19.50, and still in ‘Grading’ 5 months in… Night and day

Especially when the $12 roll gets back to you 2-3 months earlier

What do you all think about the liklihood of a cgc/psa duopoly?

Are we there?

So Tag is gonna be number 1 right

Probably applies more towards modern and poor condition cards, but will be interesting to see what happens

I’d argue that the increased number of collectors entering the hahbee and more desirability for psa are demand shifters, but your argument that prices will increase to maintain equilibrium is still correct. Only difference is that new equilibrium quantity would be greater

Gotcha thanks for the video and explanation!

Shame to see Beckett left so far in the dust. ACE are almost grading the same volume as them now (think their January 2026 numbers were over 60k graded for the month).

PSA continue to do everything to make themselves unappealing, but the custom they get doesn’t seem to be impacted once again.

And its offically time to move to CGC this is bullshit on another level.

It would be a second order effect but yeah, more demand will also increase price

It’s a strange time we are in…where grading less than 100k cards a month means you aren’t even invited to the big boy table

Yeah I’m done grading unless it is a grail that would qualify as gross negligence not to grade

Which probably means the $12 bulk won’t last much longer given the uptick in submissions CGC is likely about to receive.

Gotta get those subs in now. TBH their submission process is so easy. Dont even need to itemize anymore… just count the cards note the total and throw them in a box. My last bulk order was completed and shipped within two weeks.

Are we really all so quick to forgive CGC for the playtest scandal? At worst they were accomplices in fraud with a cofounder of Pokemon, at best they’re grossly incompetent at their jobs

Ah must be new. All is forgiven in this hobby within 1 week

PSA isn’t too innocent either in their own way, haha!
