PSA 10 Rayquaza ex – Rulers of the Heaven (A5) Unlimited – Rarity vs 1st Edition?

Hi everyone,

I recently got a PSA 10 Rayquaza ex from the Japanese Rulers of the Heaven (A5) set. It’s 047/054 and confirmed Unlimited.

I’m curious about how this compares to the 1st Edition version in terms of rarity and collector value. In Japanese ADV-era sets, is it true that Unlimited prints can be rarer than 1st Edition, even though it’s the opposite in English sets?

Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with A5 Unlimited cards, especially Rayquaza ex. Are these cards considered more valuable because of their rarity?

Thanks!

They have similar pop reports. Unlimited may be slightly more scarce in the EX era, but it almost never impacts the value of the cards. In fact, a lot of collectors still prefer the 1st Edition stamp because it feels more exclusive, even if the 1st Edition printing was larger.

As an example, EX era 1st Edition vs. Unlimited is definitely not even close to what you would see with Expedition Unlimited (E1), Unlimited Legend Series cards, or Unlimited XY sets.

If someone convinced you to pay much more for this card because it’s Unlimited, you may have been scammed.

Most of ex era JP was 45:55 unlimited to first edition. Only a few sets had a truly scarce unlimited release like Worlds Champions Pack which released over five events and two were canceled due to a bomb threat

Unlimited is technically rarer for most sets, but not enough for most people to care

thanks for the reply, i was just wondering since ive heard people speak about how the unlimited versions of cards are sometimes rarer than 1st ed in japan. but thanks for clarifying it for me. The fact it was unlimited wasnt a selling point by the seller, i just got curious since picking it up, thanks again <3
