There’s a lot of different kinds of energy in the collecting space today: positive, negative, upset, excited, water, you name it.
Going with that theme, I will post an energy type, and you post your favorite card of that energy type. Feel free to include why you enjoy the card! The post with the most likes after an appropriate amount of time will win bragging rights and the wonderful bobbrob designed badge:
Limit your entries to one card per post, and three posts per person max. Please write out the card and set name in text in addition to the image posted for posterity in case images break.
Very dynamic artwork by our beloved Aya Kusube! Likely not the most popular Pokemon, but I’m a huge fan of Forretress (gen 2 steel and dark pokemon really feel special to me, in that regard).
The holo perfectly enhances the background too. Still a cheap, wonderful entry for your binder!
Bronzong 208 VMAX Climax. Hataya’s first and best card. Incredible artwork, was my main chase when VMAX Climax came out and that’s saying something since the best umbreon art of the entire TCG came out in that set (IMO) and I wanted this more.
Although there are a lot of other Steel-Type Pokémon I like apart from the Scizor above, like this Mawile; this Magearna; this Skarmory; etc., much less really stood out to me above all others, like with the other Types in the previous threads. So apart from the Scizor above, I ended up with just these two:
The background of the Jirachi is just beautiful. Love the galaxy and stars; the lights of the city at night; and the bright sunrise at the right side of the artwork. Unlike a lot of other cards, this card in holofoil also improves it, where in most cases I prefer Reverse Holo cards over Holofoil cards, so you can better view the artworks.
And the Metagross cards is just cute, which is a weird thing to say about these Pokémon. There is just something about them happily playing in the snow that just makes me smile.
I have always liked this depiction of skarmory (moonmory?!); it strikes that perfect balance between regal and serene with a slight tinge of being intimidating.
Regi trio from this set wasn’t too popular back in the days but I guess nowadays the demand is much higher. I personally like them, especially the mint green colour Registeel has.
