I cannot wrap my head around why they don’t release the old games on the Switch.

So at the time of writing, just a day later, the video is about %15 downvoted. 70,000 upvotes, 13,000 downvotes. That is quite bad. Usually you have to do something that your audience really doesn’t like to garner that ratio. I was a bit out of the loop, so I guess they really hyped this thing up. I’ll be honest, I skipped %90 of this. I always skip the sections on pokemon sleep, pokemon cafe, pokemon unite, pokemon GO, pokemon champions. They made an annoucement for a little puzzle game, which seems to be targeted at very young kids. So that seems okay, but not something to spend as much time as they did in a big annoucement like this.
We got some minor information about pokemon Legends ZA. I am pretty unexcited by this game to start with. The original trailer was far more interesting than what I keep seeing. The one thing they did announce that people were anxious to see was a new mega evolution, which is one nobody was asking for, and certainly not with a design that mega dragonite ended up getting. I expect to see 1000 fan arts doing it better. In fact, I’m sure back in 2013 there were already fan arts of mega dragonite that we could pull from and compare. I admit, I didn’t find it all that exciting to say the least.
Pokemon Champions seemed interesting, like they realized finally that they had a strong competitive playerbase and want to actually serve them properly. Pokemon showdown is dominant. One thing I groaned at is seeing they have some kind of point system whatever “VP” ends up being. I will guess it means victory points, and will be what you need to change stats, abilities, moves etc. And you get them by playing or…buying them. Its a mobile game so they will have more incentive to do this. I await to see if this finally unshackles the national dex. This is the biggest hope I have for it. Either way, I remain not…hopeful but cautiously await more info. Its not coming out for at least 5 months, up to 17 months, so I won’t get impatient.

If they’re going to do rereleases, expect it for the 30th anniversary. The 3DS virtual console releases were for the 20th anniversary. They’d most likely save those for a major anniversary.

Agreed. This is awful.
However, excited for the game personally. Pre-ordered Switch 2 and game bundle.
