If they make these into the promo packs, then the set won’t be scalped. That’s what happened with JP 25th Anniversary Collection, most people were after the promos. Also because JP sets only contain tournament legal cards, these out-of-rotation “reprints” are unlikely to be in it
An alternate theory is that there might not be any actual reprints, just new cards with thematic nods to the past (i.e. artworks in 25th Anniversary Collection, Pokémon GO). This can bypass the limitations of reprints and create chase cards that make the set harder to find (e.g. “Base Set” reimagined FA Pikachu in 25th Anniversary Collection). But even then if the set is too small, nothing will stay expensive and the cards will be everywhere in Japan
Vendor and online shopping is a separate issue as we’re all familiar with bottlenecks in international distribution of all JP products
Unfortunatly, for us how are not super rich and cannot have the traits of a scalper this is the sad truth. The only way we’ll ever be able to get hands on the 30th anniversary set will be through TCGPlayer or EBay at triple the original price
I like this a lot. I hope they put this logo on something. I’d like it if they just a lot of other iconic pokemon and have them on pack in promos. Some language, any language. Its so obvious. They won’t do it. Korea better not say psyche on this one.
Last week I received e-mail newsletter of a webshop that opened up pre-orders for 30th Anniversary product. Just the simple 3-booster ‘blister’. I opened their webshop within minutes after receiving the e-mail and they were already out of stock. Even with a limit of 2 per customer.
I’d personally like a full set of inserting newer gen pokemon into old game mechanics and art styles. I for one loved the Light Toxtricity, Delta Species Mimikyu, and Zaxian lvl X
I’m exciting to see more of what we get, but I can’t say I’m thrilled with them using the same anniversary logo on the english side once again. It feels lazy at this point
