Really? I’ve shipped thousands of cards in a PWE with a toploader and soft sleeve with no damage.
It’s normal to use plain white envelopes to send cheaper cards. No one is going to send a dollar card in a bubble envelope. This shipping method allows most users who sell cheap singles to do so with less risk. I believe eBay suggested using rigid mailers to send cards through this new shipping method. That with a card saver will protect the cards pretty well.
I’ll just add on that the tracking is completely unreliable with these in my experience on the buyer side. At this point if the package is marked delivered using this method I know I still have 3-5 days before it as actually delivered to my house. About 25% of the time it just never gets marked delivered.
However since this is on an under $20 item I really don’t mind all that much that the tracking doesn’t work if it’s the cheaper option.
That doesn’t sound so farfetch’d to me.
