Paid $400 for Test Print cards from Jungle

Yeah, I think maybe he meant actually grade them. Maybe? :man_shrugging:

You’d be surprised. Some cards are miscut on purpose by the sheet owner and then they will be graded as such with PSA, CGC, etc. While the original owner may sell them as NFC, PSA or any grading company won’t specify this. The end-buyer may then believe that the card was factory miscut, when in reality it was not.

Here’s some more reading on NFC cards.

I talk with PSA and they said to me “you can send CGC card and submitting for [Crossover Service]”. But I think PSA not grade square cuts (I’m right?) and do not grade them because of that.

Yes, I meant the grade. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. I don’t understand the point of assigning a grade to something that was clearly hand cut.

PSA “Please Sign Autograph”

I genuinely thought this was fake when I seen it posted in the Pokemon cringe section today. I assume if you slap an autograph on one of these test cards PSA will then slap it in a PSA case with an authentic autograph label and write Card for the item itself.

What a load of insert what you like here

That’s news to me. Super interesting and very cringe :joy:

This thread covers the problem in detail, and what PSA plans on doing to stop the confusion.

Yeah I think it’s a slight improvement than what it currently is. I wasn’t really meaning confusion for collectors more of just a work around to be put in a slab. Similar to how some art academy cards aren’t graded at PSA. The same goes for FPO cards if they aren’t graded anymore (I can’t remember).

If you were to have Arita or Logan Paul sign an art academy card or FPO Charizard (LMAO) and send it for an autograph only label, would that work? Similar for these ‘test print’ cards with the white border if PSA doesn’t recognise them you can still most likely get it in a blue label PSA case if it fits your collection better than a CGC slab.

It’s a good question. To my knowledge, PSA/DNA will authenticate any signature, whether it’s on an authentic trading card, a fake trading card, or on a cutout piece of paper (e.g., Kouki Saitou’s cutout signature added to a fake Crystal Charizard).

Though the latter got so much heat (the PSA employee who graded/listed that card was ultimately fired) that I think they are more discerning nowadays.

so this means anything that goes thru psa/dna (paper form) will have the blue label and the online dual-service submissions will still use the red labels?

I don’t like them and my main reason is because they are cut so fucking bad on purpose

Could white borders be replicated with acetone or some chemical?

PSA grades plenty of hand cut items, included those cut from magazines:

I don’t see any difference

As for the test prints, I thought they were cool when I saw them and bid on a few. However, after more showed up I began to wonder how many are out there.

Nevertheless, a neat item for your collection and hope you enjoy it!

Bleach or sun fading, but the lack of carbon layer would be a little harder lol

This right here is exactly how I feel. It is so awesome to me regardless of the story. I grabbed two of them for myself and couldn’t be any happier!

I think we got lucky personally, it was by sheer luck I even found out about these thanks to Rattles video on the PSA pidgeot. I sprinted to eBay and was so happy to see some were still available.

I do believe they’ll appreciate quite a bit in the future. ESPECIALLY after this PSA magazine article that is about to come out. More folks will be searching for them.

I don’t think that will be the case. We’ve seen declines or stability with the other test prints, and those were more dramatic than a white border.

Doubtful. The edges would absorb the liquid and swell too
