Hobby has been less fun for me this year, haven’t bought since May. Did find a lot of fun digging through boxes, collecting and reading post-crisis superman recently tho

Yup, I’ve completely slowed purchasing most of this year. I actually had my best year in business ever and could buy a lot of cards right now, but I can’t seem to get motivated. I’m actually really considering looking at vintage MTG & Yu-Gi-Oh because it seems like no one really cares about them right now. I also need to clean up and re-organize a lot of Pokemon cards still, I still have a few packages I never even opened up yet.

Already did no buy May, July and going strong in September. Bought a couple of WotC holos to fill in a few binder gaps. However… my grail poped up in the EU finally, will see if I bite the bullet and move some TCG budget (like, all of it pretty much) from next year.

Count me in! I had a no-buy most of the year but since I am gearing up up Secret Santa I might as well save any money I can and plan well for a great event!

i just put in an order for something that i was waffling on but the seller sent me a good offer price, but i think im in for no “hobby” buy october (always buying things for kids lol)

Im Down to fo no buy October. I honestly made a list of cards I want to pursue and I need three more. Alto mares latios latias and VS Karen’s Umbreon. After this I am done buying Pokemon cards. So unless I get a killer deal then yeah I’m not buying anything.

I will be joining everyone here for no buy October! Good time to slow down and enjoy what you already have, reevaluate goals.
I hope in the future everyone’s collection goals become more affordable, and this won’t have to become an annual event.

Can you imagine this really catching on beyond E4 and then everything just tanks because people are just not buying anything for a month.

Think I’m going to join y’all for No Buy October. The current state of the hobby has sucked a lot of the fun out of it for me so I think taking a break will do me some good.

I am in a couple of local groups that discuss pokemon and unfortunately I don’t think that will be happening. Sadly, they only see the hobby going

It would be fun to spread this around. I feel like after every negative nancy buys the entire shelves people will grow tired of speculation, and greed when nothing is selling. ZA is about to come out to, so Ive got a break, and pocket will satisfy me for now.
We cannot underestimate us collectors feeling FOMO even for this. Enough of a spark and also people feeling the brunt of prices, this might catch on!
