Hello and thanks for clicking on my thread, as the title says i need some real big help submitting my cards to PSA.
Right, i have 82 cards i am going to be sending to PSA, i have already done everything on the PSA side of things but i am having real trouble with the shipping of the cards
I am going with FedEx, not sure if that is the best option but Royal mail wont accept my package with adequate compensation, So on FedEx i have put in all my information and PSA’s but im struggling with all the customs side of things, the parts im struggling with are:
Describing the item,
it also asks for a quantity, do i put 1x or 82x because it is 1 lot of pokemon cards consisting of 82 cards?
Also the HS code, which code is used for pokemon trading cards?
Then what is the use, is it commercial or personal use?
It is also asking me to fill out a Commercial invoice for the package aswell which im struggling with and im not even sure if it is required.
Any help would be amazing and if you need more information from me just ask
You might want to give people more than an hour to respond… You’re just making people not want to help you if you act unprofessionally by trying to throw a pity party.
I’m not sure I understand that Royal Mail won’t accept your package. They have numerous insurance options ranging from £20-a few thousand pounds. Yes they charge a lot for it but if you want them fully covered to prevent loss or damage that’s what you have to do. I’m guessing your cards are high in value?
This is my take.
I have sent a couple submissions to PSA with a few my cards in the £3000-£5000 value range (once graded) with only £20 insurance. Yes at first I was worried if Royal Mail losses it then I’m out off pocket but I took the ‘risk’. It is very very unlikely to go missing, especially if you send it Recorded tracked sign delivery, that gives piece of mind. And to write your address as sender on the package. Postage only cost me £13 or so. This is the option I will always choose and that many people from the uk have done.
It took a week for it to be delivered to PSA and another week for them to log it in to their system (might be a longer timeframe now).
I have never sent fedex so I can’t help you out there. But I believe the process is the same as well, besides the higher cost and different mail address to PSA. Good luck with your submission.
I can appreciate that shipping cards from the UK to PSA is often a hard task, but I can share with you my experiences with sending cards to PSA.
What i do is send everything through Royal Mail, who uses their partner USPS when it enters Central America. from their you can use the Royal Mail tracking, as well as the USPS tracking to see where the item is at all times.
IF you’re looking for adequate insurance for your cards (£500+) then you can always ask the post office to send through Parcelforce, who will insure it for a higher price (at a higher fee of course).
In terms of the customs side of things, all you will need to do is fill in a small sticker and apply that to the box, job done
When the cards come back to you, they will come back via Parcelforce, who may apply Customs imprort fees based on the price that PSA charged you, not the value of the cards themselves.
Just remember that this forum is really open to questions and providing help, but the more complex, specific and difficult the question is, the less amount of members have the ability to answer the question, so the longer it’ll take to get it answered!
Send via Parcelforce in the UK, do it all online, add the extra insurance. Although this really does not matter as you have to be able to prove that the cards you sent are worth £X. I have had packages worth £1500 go missing in the past and royal mail (parcelforce) ask to see proof of receipts of all the cards in the package to show their actual value.
So you may insure a package for £3000 but make sure you can legally prove the stated value of each individual item you wont get any compensation, so have all your bases covered before sending. Note : Proof of value is a receipt of what YOU paid for it and not “i saw it on ebay for £XXX so its worth £XXX”
Once you’ve booked it all online, print the postage label off and attach it to your package. Take it to your local post office and sign the relevant documentation. All done.
