i have come to the conclusion though that you basically do get exactly what you pay for at the end of the day. An extra premium on a card from what I’ve seen so far is more likely than not justified and I’m no longer afraid to go with a more expensive listing if it means buying from a more reputable seller or a listing with way better pictures for example.

That being said, I still haven’t drank the PSA Kool-Aid yet though and am refraining for as long as possible as I’m not ready to open that can of worms just yet.

That is spot on! When condition is a priority, most collectors will pay more from a more reputable seller.

Also, the PSA koolaid doesn’t taste too bad! It might surprise you, but most of my cards outside of the higher end items are “binder cards”. In fact, my original binder collection is my favorite to go through. Basically, you can do both!

That’s pretty reassuring; that’ll probably be the direction I’m headed in moving forward. Even I think it’d be crazy to leave a high end card ungraded and there are definitely some of those on my wishlist.

It’ll probably in the far off future at this rate though. I just dropped another hundred bucks on binders and sleeves.
