My name is Remco from the Netherlands, I’m new on the forum. I got back in collecting in the end of last year by a Christmas gift from my wife. It was a tin with a few packs, end opening those brought back so much nostalgia. After that I set my eye on the 151 set and completed it.
But what was next? Another Set? Then I saw a few Lapras cards online and decided to pick them up as that was my childhood favorite Pokemon. And that inspired me to stop focusing on sets, especially in this market there hard to complete, and started working on my Lapras collection. It’s far from complet as I’m just a few months in and it’s far from the biggest in the world let alone the Netherlands. But who knows, maybe one day!
In this threat I’d like to take you along in my collecting of Lapras and meet new people and fellow collectors. And pick up ideas along the wat.
What are my Goals?
I completed the English set so the second goal is to collect every card available in Japanese. So far I’m at 25/60. Just pick these up if a seller has some and I’m already ordering an English card.
I pick up a graded one when I see them for a good price.
I added a few Lapras collectebles on the way, and there displayed in my little cabinet.
These are the goals for now, I’m open for suggestions!
I’ll expand this post with a list of the cards I have and the ones I still need. And post when I have added new ones.
I’m not actively looking for graded card. But I do pick them up from time to time of it’s a card I like and it’s somewhat affordable. This is the graded collection so far:
Welcome to the forum! I always enjoy seeing other species collectors share their collections and updates along the way! Wishing you success in finding the remaining Lapras cards and achieving your collection goals!
Do you collect cameo cards? I only ask as a Korean-exclusive promotion event just occurred where the card below was distributed for free to attendees over a ~1 month period. “Lapras” is a big feature on this card!
Thanks! I don’t have any cameo cards yet, but I do plan on collecting them eventually! I saw this one, but I do believe it is still quite expensive in Europe.
I’ll ad a list with suggestions from te forum I can one day cross off! Thanks!
Lovely collection. I’m primarily a Japanese collector but my favourite Lapras is English Ex Ruby Sapphire (99/109). Hope you can get one soon, the photos don’t do it justice!
Thanks for the suggestion, added it tot the suggestions list. I don’t plan on collecting the box, but if I saw correctly the packs have the same artwork right?
Yeah amazing card! Will ad id one dat, just in doubt If I’ll get a graded one first or one for in my binder. Problem is I want no gaps in my binder, so probably wise to buy one for the binder first.
This is an absolute amazing collection and I am super excited to see more items added to it. I love Lapras so much, it is one of my favorite Pokèmon too. I wish you so much fun with your species collection, there are hundreds of amazing collectibles to discover and I am sure you will find amazing people here on e4 sharing this great hobby.
Here are two great looking cards from the Orange Islands set.
Great collection, Remco, and welcome to the fourum! I also like that Arita sunset lapras the best. Though, it is an Arita card. =) I love the little FUnko lapras there. haha. The Funko style really suits it. I look forward to seeing and wish you great luck in adding to your collection.
Hi Remco, welcome to the Fourum! Mountmoontcg here, your fellow Dutch Lapras collector Looks like you’ve been putting in some good work! As you know I don’t like selling Lapras cards except to help a fellow Lapras collector. I think I can help you out with all of the English cards except for the jumbo, send me a message on IG if you want
