I think it’s good to ask these kind of questions.

I would survive if everything turns into 0$ value, but I do sometimes buy things and think if I regret it I can always get my moneys back.B

A Pokemon market crash is possible in my opinion, because of a financial crisis or because of political actions.

The biggest booms in the entertainment/collectible markets are during financial crises and political actions. This has been true for the past 100 years. You see, such circumstances chip away at our priority lists. Most the time, our love for our hobby’s are too far up the list to be affected as well as the release and joy they bring are even more important during difficult times;)

Drinking went up during the great depression. Same concept.

Probably. Almost all of those suffered doomsday scenarios though, do I think that’s going to happen to MTG/Pokemon (the core of my collectables) in the next 10 years? No. Is it possible? Of course but that’s a risk I’ve assessed and I’m willing to bet against.

When it comes to my collection, this is the way I look at it. I only buy things I’m interested in. 90% because of the personal value the card/product has to me. 10% because of monetary value. I can always make more money. They are not making anymore WOTC Pokémon cards though!!
