Missed Holo Opportunities

Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but I think some artworks profit from being non-holo, and this is one of them. Holofoil can take away a lot of detail in the artwork. Like I’m not sure if you’d be able to appreciate the sun glare and the sky as good if it’d be printed on holofoil. It’s a stunning card the way it is still.

Agreed. Cards with very detailed backgrounds are often better off as non-holos. I wouldn’t want the 1999 Tropical Wind to be a holo, for example.

On the other hand, a holo can do a lot for a card that doesn’t have the most detailed background. One example of a card that would have been better as a holo that comes to mind is the University Magikarp.

Name a card you wish had a holo counterpart. I think a holo Team Rocket Dark Raticate would slap.
