Anyway, the artworks, 25th anniversary logo, holofoil. None of it is unique. The only thing I’d say this set has going for them is that it consist of all the starters (and Pikachu ), which is pretty cool, ngl.
Unique English artworks are very sporadic, but I must admit the Delivery Pikachu and Futsal promos weren’t too bad. Now that they’ve released those, expect a lot of reprints again, though.
YMMV, but check out the McDonald’s app, it usually has B1G1 Happy Meals on Wednesdays (for me in the USA). I can get the 6 piece mcnuggets happy meal for $3.99. I usually sub the fruit for fries and can upgrade the kids drink to a large for only $0.01 (ymmv on this). It costs me, $3.99 + $0.01 (upgrade to large drink on 1st happy meal) + $0.01 (upgrade to large drink on 2nd happy meal) = $4.01 + tax.
So in total I get:
12 mcnuggets
4 kids fries (equal to about 2 small fries)
2 large drinks
2 toys
Here’s hoping they eventually drop in the UK. Since getting back into the hobby I’m thirsty for as many different products as possible (I’ve got 17 years to make up for)
I wonder if it’s worth it to go tomorrow. I probably eat McDonald’s 3-4 times a year which correlates to really rough days where it’s 10pm and I still need lunch and dinner. So just ordering McDs normally and getting no cards would be a let down.
Then again it’s best to remember not to fomo every promotion. I never went to McDonald’s for for Pokemon prior to all this hype so do I really need to now? Every promo feels like a sense of urgency (and I fall victim to this) so it’s best to remind ourselves we don’t need these cards. Fomoing cereal boxes and McDonald’s when that isn’t your standard routine is a way to get burnt out fast.
I only care because I’ve decided to go all out on 25th anniversary and get all the promos, the jp release, a box of whatever set we end up with, and a complete set of that too.
