I would be more worried about anything Japanese we haven’t seen before, including uncut sheets never seen before and “authenticated” by CGC

It’s got CGC’S authentication on it. Unless they specifically ask for it back, I’d treat it as legitimate.

After getting bit with these playtest/prototypes, I don’t even like thinking about these kinds of products. If they aren’t fake you’ll always wonder if they are

Haven’t heard anyone else get approved yet. It’s been about 2.5 weeks since I was told my card was officially deemed to be fake.
They received my card back on February 5th, so I’ve been without the card or reimbursement for just about 2 months now.
I’m going to email Matt on Monday and see if there’s anything else I can do to get this processed faster. I hate to be impatient, but the wait is a little frustrating.

Patience is all you can do. Emailing them will just slow down the process - more time spent looking into your case and less time getting stuff done.
If you think about what happened here, a few months turn around time would be pretty incredible.

Once upon a time I submitted a PSA grading order in 2020 and didn’t get it back until 2022. Two months is nothing to me anymore

I have been fully refunded by CGC for my Alt purchases of 2 playtest cards, including CC and shipping fees.

Sorry to spam again, but last time before everyone returns their cards. I’d just grab one dirt cheap Akabane (any card) signed for the amount someone is expecting to be refunded by CGC. Thanks!
I dont think anyone got any dirt cheap id think any playtest card signed still sold for over $1000 mine was around 2k

Did they remove them from the pop report? I havent noticed any drops in pops sincs confirming the cards are fakes.
Just fyi the signed cards are very suspicious, and it would not surprise me if the signatures were fake as well. For what it’s worth, Akabane indicated that they were fake in writing.

Where did you hear Akabane said they were fakes? They were CGC Signature Series which means CGC watched him sign the cards. I know many of us believe they were an uncut sheet that he signed and then had cut up, but CGC or nor anyone close to this has not explained what happened. I’m hoping we get a tell all story of this cam in the future.

Yeah but they also cut the cards after the signature. I put zero faith in CGC for any signatures of Akabanne.
The whole “trust me bro” by CGC means everything about it could be assumed fake

Directly. It is all very suspicious so I hope CGC will clear things up. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that much of the situation will be revealed in the end.

I would be very surprised if any actual CGC employee witnessed him sign those cards, more of a 3rd party telling “we’re good right if I tell you I saw him sign right”?

In that case, I wonder what other shortcuts they’re taking in other parts of their business. Can they really tell the difference between a real card and a nice sticker covering a real card?
