LTB* 1st Ed Base Charizard Eng. ($700-$1k range)

Looking to purchase a graded or ungraded 1st ed charizard in the $700-$1k range.

I would really like to find one with a clean(ish) front and I don’t care about the back since I will be getting it signed.

Let me know if you have one available:)

I think psa 4/5 would be sufficient

There’s a PSA 5 on Virbank for $950 if you wanted to go that route!

It sold :slightly_frowning_face:

:slightly_frowning_face: ah unlucky. I’m sure another will pop up on eBay before the event  got plenty of time! This its a great idea though, I’ll be sending one too!

 PSA 4 up on Virbank again; seller asking a bit over your price but might be able to make it work?

For 700-1000 you’ll be looking at an “Authentic-PSA 2/3” condition at best

Hopefully not  that’s seems a bit high for the market at the moment. But you never know with this card… if it gets too high I won’t be getting one haha

There’s a PSA 3 in the next PWCC auction on ebay. Won’t be listed till March 17th. Might be in your price range.

Definitely best bet.

All of my PSA 4+ copies have earned over $1200. An auction gives you the opportunistic chance where you’re at least only competing with the cash ready.

Also, be aware that Arita is hella wary about signing expensive cards right now and has already given indication regarding his June signing that he will be refusing to sign anything expensive he doesn’t believe is for a personal collection (see: not personalized).

So if you were planning to not go yourself and send with someone else who has a stack of cards, and you wanted it not personalized, there is a risk of getting stuck with the card.

Oh wow ok. Thank you for that input. I think I won’t purchase one on that basis.

can you close this thread for me?

Yeah, Kanto on FB emailed asking if they could get a private signing for some price because they collectively had 1000+ cards and the organizers spoke with Arita and Arita was afraid that made it too easy to sneak in for-profit cards. And he made that statement about reserving his right to reject expensive cards that aren’t personalized if he believes they might be for resale.

So a lot of people are reconsidering their plans for the June signing because no one wants to go to Florida and buy cards that might get rejected. But anything unique/low value and 100% of personalized cards will be signed.

Wow. That sucks. I hope he doesn’t consider Base Unlimited zard as “expensive”. :x

Me too. Because I’m still risking it on some. We actually asked specifically about that and he said “How many?”

So I think even those are going to be a case by case quantity thing. One could slip through. But if you submit through a service, how many other people sent that? No telling.

He could save everybody the problem by just charging full resale market signature value.

That would either be an excruciating spreadsheet of prices for keep up with or he’d have to always charge to the max resale, which would pretty much guarantee he doesn’t get booked for event signings anymore.

He charges x amount now. So, that x amount would simply be different. There’s plenty of collectors who would just like his auto so I’m sure he’d get booked. Or are you saying he signs for free now?
