Recently I’ve noticed a lot of no rarity cards popping up on Goldin all signed by Akabane I went into sold listings and there have been 76 sold Goldin, all graded by PSA, there’s currently 19 on auction right now Goldin, the weird thing about this is it seems like a collection as there appear to be no duplicates and there is trainers. There’s 95 cards in total which is 11 away from the master set if I’m not mistaken.
What is going on with these?
Edit: I did notice 3 special energy that are not no rarity so it’s actually 73 no rarity
PSA 8 No Rarity commons/uncommons aren’t worth much at all (most are $60 or less), yet I see the current bid prices on these with Akabanes signature and can’t believe his auto, at this point in history, would add that much value to these cards as I’m seeing.
OJ Simpson signatures still hold value and so they do very “bad” people memorabilia, I don’t ser anything strange. Like it or not it’s history of Pokemon franchise.
Yeah that’s why I was driven to buy one. This scam has been a huge historical moment in Pokémon cards history. AND I was a “victim” so I wanted something to display this whole scandal haha. Has their been any updates regarding Akabane recently? Or his he hiding under the radar in Japan? I feel like if the governments do tie it all back to him and arrest him his sig will raise in value even more one day. But who knows…
I’m curious, why were these selling on Goldin? It seems like these were all signed around the same time due to the similarities to every signiture, I’m thinking that these were all Akabane’s and he signed them then sent them off to goldin to get sold so I have some questions on this, also not to mention that almost every card in the set was signed including the trainers
Why? Is he in some debt, did CGC foot him the bill on the prototypes?
Is he leaving pokemon?
My theory is that he’s selling these off before the information comes out and his signature goes down in value in the general public’s eyes, that or he’s trying to pay something off or wants some fast money. Very strange what does everyone else think?
These are most likely not his cards. Akabane did most of his deals privately and many times through intermediaries. Most graded cards are from the people who bought from Akabane and his rocket grunts.
