This is a real card, it was distributed as part of an official NAIC trade side event. Multiple Judges present and other friends and local store have authenticated the card is real.
Running theoryās are this was unreleased, part of a professor program or was only distributed in a certain territory.
Hmm, Pokemon released a ton of the playable trainers as League promos but this looks really cool, so it would make sense this was related to Pokemon League specificially. Let me see if I can find anything.

A friend was looking through my cards today and found one of these, and asked me slowly āWhere did you get this card from?ā Itās in a stack of things with other sealed promos of the time, but unsealed, which makes me think I opened a sealed pack in order to get something else for a retro deck (maybe LuxChomp?) and left it there, but I last touched that pile of things in a real way five years ago so I definitely canāt confirm that. I would have gotten most to all player rewards at the time, and a lot of professor rewards as well, in the US, but I think if it was simply a US professor reward there would be more of them ever? Someone in a PokeGym thread mentions seeing one on ebay in Europe in 2012, although thereās no evidence, just a mention that maybe it existed.
Not planning to sell it immediately; itās a cool conversation piece. But it doesnāt fit into my core collections, so I can imagine turning it around to get something that did at some point, especially if the value is higher than I would think. Mostly we were just going through old cards for fun and found this post, and I wanted to share the small amount of additional information.
I donāt have info on these cards sadly other than that Iāve only seen the crosshatch pattern on league cards as mentioned above.
What I do want to say though is: the people waiting in Target for Prismatic will most likely never understand the joy of seeing a Pokemon card never seen before posted on eFour. I love when these posts come up!
I have a copy of the twins card. I made a Reddit post about it around 10 days ago. I donāt recall how I got this rare card. If anyone has information about this card let me know. Thank you.
Oh wow, what an incredible card. Lost World is one of my single favorite TCG cards of all time and I adore the crosshatch foiling Play promos get. If they really are some unreleased oddity then I canāt imagine the prices theyād fetch, but man I would kill to find one of these in budget.
