Interesting to see a thread posted about this and i fully understand where you are coming from.
Im 38 and dealing with some pretty deep shit at the moment. Stuff I never thought I would have encountered in my life.
Your at the age of making big boy/girl decisions. I dont mean that in a demeaning way. From what you have said you are now making decisions that seriously affect the rest of your life. With some things I have a fairly addictive personality, but in other ways I couldnt care much at all. Its just if I start something, I want to finish it. Pokemon collecting (however you look at it) is the devil itself, lol.
“You cant make a house out of Pokemon cards”…well thats what my partner tells me anyways and I have a 10yo girl so yes, somethings are more important than others.
My advice…get a house as early as you can (your on the right track). Have a stable and fun source of income. Everything else is second best and I wish I gave myself my own advise in my early 20’s.
My sister did just that and in a way I am envious, but she just made better decisions and I think differently now to what I did then.
I will be beaten with a stick here but ultimately there are better life decisions to make in this world than feed the pokemon world but in the end you can have both if you play your cards right.
Sorry for the rant, more to say but ill leave it at that for an internet dad talk xoxo
Thanks for the advice I do agree that the house purchase has to come early, so selling off the collection was something that saddened me, but I felt needed to be done.
Life is your own journey my friend, even if you do something you like, someone will always criticize you. Don’t let it get to you. We only get this adventure once so just make the best out of it!
