Leonhart vintage opening fundraiser for mental health

Leonhart is doing this really amazing series of opening up vintage packs to fundraise for a mental health charity. He is also giving away every card he opens to one winner selected from those who donate. Just wanted to share!

He is a really nice guy! I know his content is aimed at the younger audience but he does this type of thing frequently.

How are these fundraisers set up? How do we know for sure the money ends up going to charity? Ive only ever seen him ask for donations and tell people how much they raised but never seen any confirmation the money is actually going anywhere or really followed how his fundraisers are set up. Not knocking the guy at all, Im just curios.

Leon is the most reputable person i know though in this case the donation dollars go direct to the charity…NAMI The National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Its good to be careful though but in this case all of us will vouch for him:)

Thanks for chiming in Gary! I wasn’t familiar with NAMI. Im happy to hear he’s legit and the money ends up going to a good cause. I will have to support.

Lee is a local and seems like he’s genuinely a good person. We’ve had misfortune in our local Pokémon community with mental health and have devoted several tournaments to charity, and he’s jumped right on board and helped support the cause.

That would mean a lot:)

Hey! I just wanted to personally introduce myself on here and say thanks for the support! As far as funds goes for all my fundraisers they have either been through the fundraiser website themselves or through crowdrise which goes directly to the charity and not me. For this current one where I partnered with NAMI it’s on their own website so no money ever goes through me.

As far as my channel itself; if I’ve ever offended anyone by anything I apologize. Pokemon is something I’m extremely passionate about and nostalgic about. Who you are seeing in the videos I do is how I am as a person; I’m a huge geek and I love that. If I can get parents and kids to bond over Pokemon and bring them in as new fans or back as a fan then I’m happy to have helped. You will never seen me rip Pokemon cards to gain views (the only time I did was in my How to spot fake pokemon cards video to showcase the inside of a common card). I always try to make sure I put proper prices of cards in my videos or right info so people can be informed. I have the most absolute respect for collectors on here that I’ve met in person or just online and my goal is to provide content for people of all ages sharing a passion that is Pokemon. If anyone would ever like to chat please contact me at any time.

Thanks again for all the support!

Mental health is often overlooked/stigmatized so it’s very refreshing to see somebody raise money and awareness for it. Much props. I’ve always been a fan of your videos and you can count on my donation.

Something tells me that thanks to the fine members of our great site, we’ll not only reach Lee’s goal but blast right through the ceiling.

Good dude. Very NICE

1st news…Lee opened a Pokémon pack as he was entering the arena on America Ninja Warriors. Great idea by him to promote Pokémon. See the video below.

Most importantly, last year he reached his 5000.00 charity goal. This year he only started his charity giveaway videos today and has already BROKE THE $10,000.00 mark. New goal is 20,000.00 for the the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Donations go direct to them and all I can say is, THEY SAVE LIVES thanks to us. Already, E4 has come up big. Please keep it up

Just got an email from Leon and the donations just hit THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. This is sooooo amazing I’m nearly in tears.
Let’s not stop now. Let’s help in any way we can. Donate! Advertise! Inform friends and family. This is about more than just mental health. This is about the amazing Pokémon community coming together to support something greater than ourselves and our hobby.
We all truly care. Very well done.

PS…To all who donate 10.00 bucks or more, one person will be getting a TON of pack fresh rarities, PSA Gold Stars, Vintage, Base PSA 10s, and so much more. Please pass this around.

Thank you so much for the update on here Gary! As well as those with the kind comments; I’ve been updating Pokemon company themselves with how things are going and they are thrilled to see what the Pokemon community can do! We’re currently at $41,500+ raised and it keeps on climbing. Most importantly the lives that have been impacted by this already is why it all matters. Again, thanks to those for the support! The community is amazing!
