It is strange that TPC continues to have active veterans like Arita, Saitou, Saito, Kusube, Komiya, Toshinao Aoki, Shibuzoh., Tsuruta, and Yuka Morii on the spotlight as they’re pushing for new artists nearly every release; while Himeno, Atsuko Nishida and Fukuda have been reserved for regular cards. I suppose in retrospect, Himeno already did a few for BW/XY and Komiya/Kusube only got their first special art in late SM (Tag Team GX). She also did a bunch of FA Supporters including the remake Oracle and Underground Expedition; and regular V cards
The unpopular opinion on here (mine) is because it’s not really that special. Of course that doesn’t stop Shigenori Negishi getting multiple special arts (though you can’t say it’s not distinctive).
Personally, Himeno and Fukuda look like any generic digital artist that works on Lorcana. Everything is proficient but lacks any real style - especially considering how they started. Nishida has a clear style but since there’s barely any background detail, it’s not like a full art would be much of a showcase.
There is a very whimsical and fantastic element and feel to her art in how she colors and shades, and it really brings both classic and more recent arts to life in a way that few others do.
Indeed. As a performing artist, I met several celebrities in and out of my field, but they really were, and one told me, “just ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.” They shouldn’t be seen as any different than other people, BUT they should be respected and thanked, as their accomplishments touch countless individuals.
We ARE often our own worst critics… It’s especially hard tho, when you have to make money at it. That’s why I quit. Now, I also just do it for fun.
