Snagged both PC ETBs after only 25 min in the queue this morning. This has been the smoothest and quickest queue checkout for me so far.

Bit surprised how long they have been available for. Spotted the drop early in a work dinner. Had a pretty minor attempt to get them, gave up and finished dinner and drinks. Had a 30min trip home and was still able to get them something like 4 hours later.

we got either/and/all of the above possibilities of: Better anti-bot system, less demand, more supply
pre orders usually last longer and they have over 2 months to deliver to consumer, so they probably had a large quantity they can sell and just print to order.

Me too! I got the email at 5:48 PM and tried a few times with about a half-hour wait in the queue, but it kept failing so I gave up. I decided to try one more time before bed around midnight, there was barely any queue then. The site was still under heavy load, but I managed to grab one of each.
BTW, this was from Pokémon Center UK. I heard the US sold out a bit quicker. Still curious to see how many pre-orders there were for these!

Does anyone feel like TPC are dropping the ball thematically with recent sets?
Saying this after three of the most thematically cohesive sets in the entire SV era is certainly a choice!

Fair point. Perhaps “thematically” was the wrong choice of word.
I mean, for example with the new Rocket set: No Dark Pokemon. No Jessie or James. The 151 SAR Mewtwo lools far more “dark” (in my opinion) than the new gaudy “Rockets Mewtwo”, etc.
Just feels to me like they could have made these sets much more of a throwback to the original sets…
Sometimes you have to be innovative and not focus on the past. I think the world is harped on nostalgia and that’s ok sometimes but if we always did throwbacks we would never move forward.
