Hey guys just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a guide or card list to the japanese promos? I see different sets on the cards like L-P, PCG-P, BW-P etc but dont know much about the different sets and what cards they contain. A list would be really helpful so i know what to collect.

Serebii’s thumbnails are nice, but they don’t really list how these promos were released. Here’s a list of each different group (mind the weird ones that don’t belong; Bulbapedia’s card sections are in a perpetual state of improvement). If you need more than the lists, I can probably point you in a good direction, but there’s that for now.
I agree with @mavericknate. The Bulbapedia list of Japanese promos — while not definitive — is a fantastic resource. I haven’t found any list that is more comprehensive and easier-to-use than that one.
